Poured from a 12 oz bottle,into a pint glass.

Very thin white head, that dissolves quickly.Light brown / dark copper in color, with medium clarity.Distorted light showing through the glass.Very light carbonation.

On the nose I get dark roasted malt, caramel, and toffee notes. Also some sweet bread and honey.

The palate follows the nose with roasted malts and caramel on the front end.On the finish I also get caramel, with some sweet bread, and smalls hints of dark fruit.

The body is medium with a slight stickiness to the mouth feel.Slight alcohol warming ,with a smooth finish.

Pours a light brown color with a white head. Aroma is malty, with fresh bread and honey like sweetness. The taste follows the nose, with honeyed bread, buttery toffee, and assertive caramel notes. Light bodied, well carbonated brew. Overall, this sweet ale that would be enjoyed most by those that like a more malt forward brew.

Dark brown pour with thin tan top that fades to a ring. Aroma of cooked sugar, dark bread, and a slightly spicy booze. Flavor is very similar and that's a good thing. Semisweet, malty with a fairly clean, semi-dry finish. Never bitter, and as most other reviewers have mentioned, most importantly none of the flavor is overdone. Very enjoyable.

Pours light brown in color with an off white head in the 2/5" range. The aroma smacks of winter warmer, you have the mild holiday spice rack, brown malt etc.

Taste gives impressions of all your usual winter warmer holiday beers from the big regional breweries. Maltiness is there but not overly thick or roasted. Not bitter. Nuances in the mouthfeel of those Thanksgiving and Christmas spice racks. Nothing overdone like a truckload of coriander or cinnamon. Chill. One of the better Shipyard beers.

Crystal clear dark with red hues and has a thick sticky abundant head.
Smell: Sweet, smells of butterscotch. Chocolate licorice an burnt malts.

Taste: Chewy bread malts, full bodied, caramel and butterscotch.
After the butterscotch comes more butterscotch.

Sweet but than has a slightly dry finish.

Solid beer.

This is my favorite brew from Shipyard, and it's probably my favorite "winter warmer" brew. The taste is not too spicy or sweet like lots of other holiday offerings, but definetely is a winter type drink. The feel in the mouth is silky smooth, even oily, but in a good way.
