The beer pours out into a shaker pint glass a clear bright golden yellow with a 1/4" white head that soon recedes without leaving any lacing on the sides of the glass. Sipping creates a few scattered patches of lacing but the foam is mostly gone by mid way through the beer.

The aromas include mostly biscuity malt and a hint of almost grassy hops.

The flavors feature the biscuity malt, some sweetness, and just a bit of grassy hops in the background.

The mouth feel is medium bodied but on the light side and nicely smooth from the moderate carbonation. The finish begins about mid-way through as the malt slowly steps aside leaving the gentle hops to finish the slow with a slight bitterness.

While i thought I detected a bit of butter in this one (DMS) it worked fairly well with the other flavors. I don't intended to have another one soon, but I'd not turn it down if offered.

This is a great beer! It has enough flavor not to be boring, but it is light enough to refresh. I thoroughly enjoyed by first purchase of this beer, and I intend on buying more!

Darker than I would guess for a "blonde," in terms of color, anyway. More of an amber with a hint of reddish. Head was white, sparse big bubbles. Smell fairly minimal and taste followed: some nondescript malt, distinct hoppiness but nothing overwhelming. Mellowed and broadened a bit as it warmed. Drinkable but simply not remarkable. Brown bottle poured into a clear glass, stamped "BB.07.30.16"

Second bottle from this six-pack; best by date is clearly marked as January 12, 2016.

On the darker end of gold color-wise, pretty nice and shiny look to it, and pretty clear -- I can easily read my phone's screen through it. There's a lot of little bubbles rising up from the bottom. Layer of foam on top is pretty thin but present, and after it shrinks away a ring around the edge and a good-sized "island" in the middle remain. Overall pretty nice, though the foam on top could be better.

Smells of "standard beer smell" through the neck of the bottle, but once poured in a glass it's much nicer, with a bready sort of thing going on and also just a bit of a faint caramel-like thing. Around the halfway point of the glass, a definite buttery sort of smell starts to come in as well, which is interesting -- don't think I've had a beer I picked up that in before this one.

The first thing I notice, even before the taste comes in, is just how fizzy this is on the first sip. This fizziness does calm down a bit afterward, but both times I've had one of these it's just incredibly bubbly on the first sip -- I'm not sure whether this is a good or a bad thing, but the "bubbliness has calmed down" later version is more pleasant to me so I'm going to count the initial super-bubbly feel as a negative. After the initial sip the fizziness starts to calm down a bit, and this continues the more I drink. Overall the feel is fairly light but not bad; quite drinkable once that initial burst of over-fizziness has faded.

Taste is focused primarily on malt -- biscuits all the way, plus a bit of hay/dry grass coming in after a couple sips and growing stronger over time. I'm finding that I really like that hay-like flavor in beer, interestingly enough. There is a bit of a different flavor in there that I can't quite identify, something bordering on bitter which isn't entirely pleasant, but it seems like whatever this is (some kind of hops that my taste buds don't appreciate? yeast weirdness?) is most present on the initial super-fizzy sip and fades away pretty quick afterward. There's just a hint of a leafy sort of bitterness in here as well, coming in after the malt flavors and hanging around a bit in the aftertaste. Around the time the buttery smell starts to appear, a similar thing starts to come in just a bit in the taste as well -- I wonder if this is something that pops up more as the beer warms, as I didn't notice it at all in the first few sips but around the halfway point of the glass it is definitely present. In some beers maybe this would be an unpleasant addition, but here it works pretty well -- butter and biscuits go together well, after all, so why not a buttery biscuity beer?

Overall -- maybe not a spectacular beer, but certainly worth trying, especially if you're on a budget but don't want to resort to the cheap adjunct lagers. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was considering that it's priced well below everything else in the grocery store's craft/import section -- .$6.99 a six-pack at my local Food Lion, the same price as stuff like Bud Light Platinum and only 50 cents more than a six-pack of Yuengling Lager. I think Yuengling may have just been dethroned from its previous position as my go-to cheap beer.
