Notes: Our head brewer had the romantic idea of doing a 100% Tahoma hop farmhouse ale. After testing the hops in an infusion tea, we found it was so bad, and so dead that we had to look somewhere else for the hop bill. But Tahoma was such a cool name that we decided to keep it even if there is No Tahoma hop in this beer! This Farmhouse pale ale is brewed with oat malt, hopped with Ella, Magnum and Smaragd. Dry-hopped with Simcoe, Centennial and Rakau.

Nice head, cloudy, pale yellow color along with strong tropical/citrus (mostly apricot and lemon) aromas and flavours. Decent carbonation, no bitterness. Really liked it.

On tap at the Dunham Brewpub. Clear golden. Smells of light grapefruit hops, strong yeast, and some light caramel malt. Tastes of bright yeastiness and citrus hops. Yeast lends earthiness and a bit of spice. Back end is a very light bready malt. Medium low carbonation. Tingly, but then dies down. Very pleasant.

Soft, lemon yellow with moderate carbonation, slightly see through, and 3 fingers of off white, glassy head. Nice lacing.

Smells of phenols, soft pears, coriander, lemon.

Tastes of ruby red grapefruit, canned pears, phenols, and fruit cocktail.

Medium body, overall very dry feel, with moderate to high carbonation.

Got in Gatineau, QC, drank March 27th in Stratford, ON with my bro. Very true to Belgian saisons' brewing tradition.

Hazy straw color with storming activity. Gets cloudy with the yeast poured. Extra foamy and frothy light beige 3-4 finger head in a teku, lasting around 20 minutes, with powerful legs. Flavors of caramel, lemon, grapefruits, green grapes, hay, cheese, brett yeast, sweet grains and floral hops. Slick and smooth medium body with a sharp crisp. Medium strength finish, potent maillard effect, slightly tropical, more flowery and yeasty barnyard feel, with a hint of coriander. Really fresh, zesty, and crispy, while not excessively funky. I can see why they call it a rustic pale ale from the kind of malts and dominant sugars used, but I still find it leaning more towards a Saison having lots of complexity. Highly pleasant, good accessibility, awesome balance. Overall excellent quality craft.

Pale straw yellow, slightly hazy witha frothy head. Aroma citrus, apricot. Tastemakt sweetness is fruity with hints if chamomile balanced by hop bitterness in both body and aroma with the balance between the two quite perfect. Wonderful full mouth feel.

From a 750ml bottle, undated as best I can tell. Served in an oversize wine glass.

Pours a deeply hazed, sunshiney, pineapple-gold with a big, pouffy, merengue-like head of snowy-white suds. Retention might be infinite if I had the patience to leave it alone long enough to find out, but I don’t. Fat gobs and sheets of lacing cling to the glass.

The nose is sharp as a knife, all yeasty and lemony, grassy herbs and a clean, mineral tang.

Taste: Surprisingly, after the nose, the brett is only a supporting player here. The first impression is of a sweet, doughy underbody Mixmaster®ed with honey and lots of fruit, lemons, cherries, guava and lime. Finishes soft and powdery with funky, fruity yeast in the sinuses and a boozy warmth in the gullet.

Feel is a very un-saison-like smooth and creamy, medium-thick bodied, brightly carbonated and just a little bit boozier than the stated abs of 5.9% would lead me to expect.

Overall, a right-tasty beverage. This is not your grand-père’s saison - it is thick and malty and all amped up on aromatic hops.

Beautiful golden pour with fluffy white head. Doughy, floral, honey, bready. Couldn't find any evidence of any Brett whatsoever. If this was labelled with no mention of mixed fermentation or Brettanomyces, it would've been pretty nice, sadly it seems like Dunham fell short on this one. Very drinkable and tasty, but not as advertised.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy yellow color ale with a huge pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry funky Brett notes with light dry hoppy notes with some floral undertones. Taste is a great mix of dry funky Brett notes with some dry hoppy floral undertones. Body si full with nice creamy texture and some good carbonation. This is a nice easy drinking saison and I wish I would have access to this beer more regularly.

Pours a cloudy (almost opaque) white-gold with two fingers of white head that settles at a half inch or so, then a film. Decent retention; arches of lacing. (4)

A funky mix of citrus rind, musty funk, white wine, and a thick backbone of caramelized sugar cookies. (4.25)

Fresh and fruity with a slightly malt-sweet/brett-dry flavor and feel; lime peel, sweaty funk, oranges, green grapes, hint of sulfur. (4.25)

Light-medium body with small-bubbled, lively carbonation and a dry finish with a lingering funky/bitter aftertaste. (4)

Very good hoppy saison, or maybe it's a saisony pale ale.
The mixture of the different hops and the fruity yeast really make for a full aromatic/flavor package. The sweet/tart/juicy character never gets in front of the musty/bitter part and vice versa. The malt is there, the hops are there, the saison yeast and refreshing floral fruitiness is there. It really is a melding of a PA and a saison. Very well done. This is a tasty beer and one which I would gladly have again. (4.25)

Cloudy straw in color with a nice white head.

Smell of yeast mostly as well as lots of tropical aromas from the hops.

In the mouth it's like a mix between a Pale Ale and a Saison, lots of hops and yeasts flavors, really good.

Not bad at all nice bitterness, I expected wild yeasts but it seems like it's traditional belgian yeasts, still pretty good.

Yeast presence is a bit too overwhelming to the detriment of other aspects. Note: this seems to have been corrected in take two. Yep: new batch is much better, more funk, better complementing the hops.
