Crown Spirits is not a bad little beer store. ThE beer selection is not enormous but the beer available is of very good quality. Selectin included all of the craft beers you would normally find in the area. I did see a limited edition Cigar City brew that looked pretty sweet and they just received some DIPA from Thomas Creek in SC, which I havent seen down here before. but my budget didnt allow any purchases today. I am not sure of the actual quality of the beers here. Some of the beers seemed a little old with dust on the bottle. Others were passed their "best by" date. Total Wine is notorious for old beer so I would like the smaller guys to atleast rotate old beers out of stock or put them on discount. I think I will stick with TW due to location and price and if both have old beers, price wins.

I've read some amazing reviews and I live in the area so I gave it a shot. Not really sure how it earned such high ratings, because I did not see the selection that others did apparently.
Some good brews for sure, but nothing rare or hard to find in other places around town. A large selection of Belgians would be their high point, but nothing here worth making the trip for.
The service was pretty good, the beer guy happened to be out when I went in, but other than "the beer guy" the other employees were not very knowledgeable about beer. I'd definitely go to Total Wine for selection over this.

I was very impressed with Crown. I just moved to the Boynton Beach area and am attending graduate school at FAU so I am in Boca more often then in Boynton...
The beers that they carried were all great beers and i was very pleased with them. More importantly, they made it very clear that they could and would try to order anything that could come to Florida. Being from GA I was loving the large selection of DFH (120 min IPA anyone?) but missed Oskar Blues Gordon and Old Chub. (Apparently FL is out of its distribution range). And best of all, BMC had only a very small portion of the cooler space. Which is what they deserve.
If I could give the service a rating of 6 I would. The service was outstanding. Al and Steve both talked to me and both of them love beer. Al is one of the few people I have ever met that not only knows the lore of beer, but told me somethings I did not know about it. he also let me try a sample of a beer or two before I bought them which no beer store has EVER done.
The selection wasnt as good as Green's in GA, but thats kinda unfair bc Greens is one of the better beer stores in the entire Southeast. As of late August, they had a wide selection of Belgians, IPAs and English Ales. The fact that they can order what ever you want if it is in Florida is really helpful. But man oh man will I miss Terrapin ...
I have not been to any other FL beer store, and after a visit like this I really dont know if I will ever go to another, but the prices seemed pretty rasonable to me. 9.99 DFH 60 sixer and dfh 12 oz for 7.50 seemed pretty good.

This Crown is my local stomping ground. They always had a decent selection, but really stepped it up over the last few months. They have over (or close to) 100 different beers, mostly American micro with some good standard Belgiums. They get a couple new ones in every week to keep things fresh. The staff is great, very friendly and eager to help. They will also special order anything that their distributors carry. Prices are okay I suppose, they are may even be a littler cheaper then the popular east Boca favorite.
Edit - 8/25/05 - They'be been going really strong lately with the Belgiums.
