If I can't say anything good I don't say anything at all.

355ml bottle from Wee Beer Shop, Glasgow (£2.50):
This one was quite a strange beer in that it started as very much an amber ale with some sweetness & basic malts coming through alongside a few nutty flavours & biscuit but further on there was a lot of sourness & funk coming through, particularly towards the end which made the beer seem a little unbalanced. It was drinkable throughout but definitely not a classic that I'd rush back to.

A - Slightly hazy amber copper. Big fizzle and head outset which dissipates rather quickly, decent lacing but not much lasting power

S - Background malt, stronger yeast and pronounced sour, but overall subdued

T - Sour is the predominant taste - granny smith apple?

M - Nondescript, leaves a film on the tongue

D - Not enough complexity or malt for me to balance out the sour. Maybe good with a fatty cheese or food.

A decent amber with well-expressed malt character. The hops were there to add some piney bitterness and balance, but otherwise stayed in the background. Wouldn't mind drinking this one again.

12 oz bottle. No bottling info provided

Pours a very attractive deep amber body that you can almost see though. A white head that dissipated fairly quickly. Minimal lacing

Smell is malt forward. It comes across as a slightly sour applesauce.

In addition to the malt there is a nice little balance of hops that was noticeable in the finish. Very nice !

Crisp feel that bordered on prickly, seems right for the style.

Overall; I was impressed by the deep amber color and the taste. This is a classic American amber ale. Well done!

Lighter and a little cloudy. The beer is sweet and malty with sugar and apricot notes.
