Foamed like the last review. Had the glass angled and as soon as I tipped the bottle, it took off for the countertop. Reviews similar to taste. Is this really an unfiltered DIPA? Looks like the thickest UF hefe ever seen. Bottle stamped "01 815 069"!!???

Clear orangey amber brew with adequate foam in the snifter. Enticing aroma of gardenia and orange. A bit syrupy, but spritzy on the tongue. Rather sweet and alcohol tasting, though the bright acidity gives it an edge. Pineapple and bitter grapefruit peel is the dominant flavor.
There is an astringent, wood aftertaste. Sweet and bitter all the way, but really not bad. The hops don't have the sensational aromatics of the kings of this category. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.

12 oz bottle served in a lager glass. (from 2017 notes)
Pours with a clear amber-copper colored body with an oversized soapy white head that has good retention and that leaves sticky lacing.
Aroma: overly dank.
Flavor: improves upon the aroma with some additional fruit, pine, herbal and floral notes. Not boozy for 8%.

Purchased single bottle, BB 03/20/19. (Thank you for the freshness info!)
Hop list: Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, Cascade
Pours amber, clear, generous head that dissipates to a skim. Minor lacing.
Taste is malty, bready, some sweetness,
Aftertaste is resiny, syrupy, a tad dry.
For a moderate 8% abv, the alcohol is surprisingly bold.
As for the 105 IBU. Ummmmmm...no.
Not a memorable brew.

Date coded in early Oct '17; rated on Feb 28th '18. Take that into account. Pour is a bit hazy, medium amber pour with a light and fading head. For a DIPA, this has a pleasant malty aroma along with some citrus & piney background ( might be the age). Nice balance and mouthfeel. We get a lingering bitterness, caramel and maybe some chocolate. We liked this one and will seek a fresher batch, if available.

355ml bottle from Wee Beer Shop, Glasgow (£3.10):
Great stuff from Scuttlebutt here, this one definitely started a lot more subdued on the nose than expected with only some light grapefruit & pine coming through but these seemed to be fighting to be noticed alongside the sweeter malts & biscuit notes at this point. Things changed with the taste though thanks to a lot of hop bitterness jumping to the front in the form of resinous pine & grapefruit flavours, there was also some orange following on behind before the sweet malts & biscuit seen things out nicely.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass at home. This is the second Scuttlebutt beer I've reviewed which has been absurdly overcarbonated. The head is so thick and aggressive that I could only pour a fraction of the bottle out at a time so as to prevent vast overflow of the glass and spillage onto the table. Best to just drink it out of the bottle, I suppose. It has a pleasant, medium-gold color, which is fairly clear, aside from the swarm of microbubbles rising from the bottom of the glass.
It has a clean, straightforward smell of hops. The taste is dominated by hops, as well, appropriate for the memorable name of the beer. The malt is secondary and not particularly memorable. There is a "medicinal" quality, with quite a bitter aftertaste. This is not an "easy-drinking" beer. Overall, it's not my favorite in the genre; in the average range.

Soft, golden with a hint of haze, little carbonation and 2 fingers of yellowish head.
Smells of penicillin, cantaloupe melon, pine, and creme brulee.
Tastes of melons and berries, grapefruit pith, with a light sweetness. Solid bitterness on the end.
Light and foamy for the ABV with a hint of syrup.
Got this in Kunming, drinking in Chiang Mai, April 16th, 2017. Very well done brew that covers the abv well.

Sorry...I don't smell or taste the hops at all. All I taste is malt, the kind New Belgium beers use that leaves that clean, dirt taste on your palate for ever and ever.

Good looking, a little too carbonated. Above average taste, just the right amount of bitterness.
