On tap at the brew pub. Pours hazy golden with, fluffy white head, nice lacing and lively carbonation. Aroma is of yeast, wheat malt, spices and citrus fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Wheat malt, yeast, spices and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and spicy. Good brew.

Bleached white foam, thin coating across the surface with weak retention, the lacing starts out thick but this too barely lasts. Dark yellow gold colored liquid, loose beads of quite large bubbles, great activity below the surface which does not translate into the head. The nose is a stunner, the ginger very pure and lavender a well chosen accompaniment, the lemon more subtle, grainy with wheat notes, apple, pear to apricot fruit skirts around the perimeter, very pungent, no doubt one has to be a ginger fan to get behind this. Medium-bodied, the carbonation does a slow churn so it tends to be bottom heavy. Still, lots of pucker factor from quinine, mineral water to lemon citrus. Here more yeasty, doughy than unprocessed grains. Floral with lavender, violet notes, very good lift and inner mouth perfume. The sourness restrains the spicy bite of the ginger some as well as length through the finish, now and then you get cloves too. Again, mainly white pit fruit such as apple or pear, not the most distinct element. Strong finisher, chooses power over crispness. No doubt this can be a polarizing brew given its clear uniqueness. But finished it as quickly as any beer in recent memory.

Notes via stream of consciousness: A light pour brings up a massive head of bright white froth. The hazy golden body beneath displays visible particulate in suspension. It appears to have pretty good head retention but only time will tell. The aroma is unusual. It's floral and spicy. Ahhh, I see, the label states that it includes lavender, ginger, and lemon peel. Interesting, that's a nice change of pace. The flavor follows, quite unusual as well. There's some tartness to it. The lavender is really nice. I don't find too much ginger, there's some, a bit of flavor, and a touch of spiciness, but it doesn't come on strong. Mildly bitter. It's sweetish with wheaty malt upfront and then the acidity steps in, followed by a a dry finish with the ginger and lavender lingering, and just a touch of lemon. Wow! I'm really impressed. Not only is it quite different from what you'd normally expect, it's also really well done. The ingredients are all clear, and they all work together, nothing steps all over something else; and it's really well balanced. Looking back, although the head retention was good, there's very little lacing left behind. Medium-light in body and gently effervescent. I'm surprised this isn't rated higher.

It's a take on a Belgian white. Unfiltered and very cloudy with a decent head. Little to no lacing. Smell is very floral and lemony, the lavender stands out. Beautiful golden color. Flavor wise the lavender is a little overpowering. Very floral with a nice lemon peel undertone. Feel it would be better balanced with a little less lavender. Overall it is a refreshing beer easily paired with summer time meals.
