Had a pint at the brewpub. It's a great blend of big hops and rye. Some rye IPAs like SN's Ruthless come on a little more slowly, but this opens with a big blast of spicy citrus hops and rye malt. It's a bit difficult to pull the two apart, they work so well together. The body is medium weight, not too heavy. If anything, the deep, rich flavor and bitterness might slow you down here. This is a great beer, seek it out.

Draft: Poured a light brown color ale with a small foamy head with good retention. Aroma of light spicy rye malt notes with some medium bitter hoppy notes. Taste is also a mix between some medium spicy rye malt notes with some medium bitter hops notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad and easily drinkable with some complexity.

This is the first rye IPA I've had and I'm impressed.

A thin head with a good lace as it was enjoyed.

Clear orange copper colour with little effervesces.

Nice dry ale, slight hop nose, citrus flavours with a subtle bitters finish.

Round mouthfeel.

as generic as a rye ipa can be. clear caramel colored liquid with an inch of pure white head, but the beer itself looks almost still. the rye is light on this one, not as spicy as some, but adds some depth of aroma and flavor without being overbearing. the hops are in the English family feel, without too much citrus or alpha acids happening, it came across a bit uninspired to be honest, not that anything was off or not tasting good, just that the beer seemed to have very little life to it, both in terms of mouthfeel, which was undercarbonated and a little heavy as a result, and in terms of creative vision. a nice cascade dry hop would whip this into gear for sure, but as it stands a passable session beer if you don't want too much rye spice.

Consumed this last night and thought it was worth jotting down my thoughts...

The beer pours a clear copper with a thin white head that leaves some lacing as it settles down to a loose, thin blanketing. The nose is surprisingly hoppy, masking any rye spice that might have been present. The taste does have more spice than explained by the just hops, but it's predominantly a resiny hop bomb of an IPA. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, spicy, with a lingering dry and bitter finish. Honestly, it's a little hard to drink a whole pint of, let alone drinking another one.
My favorite rye IPA remains rye of the tiger, this beer isn't close.
