The beer has a great appearance with dark coffee mahogany color and a dark wheat colored foam. It tastes great right up front with nice coffee flavor right away and following tastes of caramel and chocolate. The body is typical of a great stout -- not weak or thin at all. I found it to have great mouth feel. Had to get a growler of this fine stout.

Served in a 10 ounce glass shaped like a pint glass. They really should consider changing their glassware to match the great beer. I'd love this beer in a snifter.
A- Pitch-black and opaque body with no visible carbonation. The head looks like the lace on an espresso, dark-khaki, and persists well leaving a wall of lace. 4.3
S- Dark roast coffee is all over this and some espresso beans to boot. Sweet caramel and toffee are there once the coffee steps aside. 4.1
T- More of what the nose offered, sweet and creamy caramel and a coffee flavor equivalent to biting a bean. There's a light hop presence giving it some earthiness. At the finish, this becomes more like a coffee with cream, complete with some dark roasted malt flavor. 4.1
M- A little thinner than I'd like or expect, that throws me off with the initial taste. There's a hint of hop bitterness and coffee-like acidity on this that are noticeable on the otherwise creamy, viscous body. 4
This beer is great and I may be judging it harshly, but the thinner body really just makes this more enjoyable. As I finish off my pour and coffee lingers, I realize this beer deserves its props. 4.1

Growler from GHB. Thanks!
Opaque black body topped by a finger of dense froth. Huge coffee nose, nutty and roasty, toasted malt, slight fruitiness. The coffee aromatics are fresh and potent. Equally nice on the palate, big up-front fresh coffee flavors, roasty and nutty, slightly acidic and fruity. Body is medium-light, little thinner than I'd like. Mildly bitter, very little bite from the coffee or roasted malt. Great beer - I can understand why this took a medal at GABF.
