Amber red in color clear and crisp in appearance. The smell was malty and quite average. The taste was hoppy with a sweet finish. It seemed a little watered down but was still very drinkable but could use a little more character in the flavor department to hopefully also beef up the aromas. I would definitely buy this one again when I am in the restaurants or in the brewery again.

An easy pour gave decent head with great lacing that lingers for the whole drink. Smell is mild of chocolaty malts with some noticeable hops. Not a typical rich taste as most amber's have. Much smoother due to the lager yeast and ferment they give it. I pick this amber over any other, any day!

Off the tap in downtown Santa Fe this beer was an orange-amber color. The head was a finger of foamy tan bubbles that retained solidly as a thin cap and left moderate lacing. The aroma was of caramel malt, toasted malt and a hoppy bitterness that added balance. The flavors were distinctly bitter and not as malty as the aroma suggested. It struck me as misbalanced, though the caramel malt did manage to peek through. Hints of nuts and wood. The mouthfeel was smooth, perhaps too smooth due to under-carbonation and a watery/medium body.
