Serving: On cask in a pint
Serving: 4 October 2014
Appearance: Pure foam on the pour- the whole glass is a mass of foamy beer before it eventually events out into a creamy head and a hazy yellow APA with magnificent lacing.
Smell: Soft sweet notes from the pale malts overlayed with piney hops.
Taste: The hops here are really showcased, and they're great. They add some dank piney and bitter grapefruit notes that really make a great bitter beer. The bitterness from the hops are softened slightly by some sweeter malt, but the hops are still front and center, without being over the top.
Feel: Smooth and creamy on the tongue from the cask.
Overall: My first cask beer, and a really marvelous one at that. Looking forward to trying more of these one-offs on cask at the CBC brewpub. Would highly recommend while they have it.

As always, I love the pour--it's all foam to start. As it settles, the liquid becomes more evident. Muddy gold color. Thick, rich, slowly descending head. Great combination of blanketed and ringed lace.
The smell is of malt and yeast and a touch of hop. Attractive for a home brewer.
Great temperature (10/55 degrees centigrade/Fahrenheit). Rich body and low carbonation naturally. This provides a great (mildly toasted) malt start. The hop takes over quickly and strongly, lasting through the long aftertaste. This is a great, balanced cask ale.
