Notes: Belgian-style strong blonde ale. The first Belgian-style beer ever produced in North America, and still an inspiration.

Honey orange color and a finger's worth of thick white head with good lacing. Fruity, cider-like aroma with apples and pears most prevalent, some bready notes and white pepper. Creamy mouthfeel. Fruit up front and into the aftertaste with a peppery bite in the middle. A little bubble gum and just a hint of orange. Good stuff.

The beer is a very interesting cloudy pinkish orange, with a very mellow, creamy head. It has the aroma of sweet citrus. Taste is very strong. There is a lot of booze in this one, and it's not afraid to show it. It lacks that traditional Tripel sweetness, but it's still a wonderful balance of Belgian yeast, sweet citrus and honey. It finishes sweet, with a slight alcohol bite. The mouthfeel is creamy, but leaves a tingle on the tongue.
