Can to tulip.
The appearance was a glossy semi-bright with a chill hazy mentality to it's yellow color. One finger of white foamy head. Slid off nicely to leave some sporadic foamy lace somewhat in rings but sliding stealthily away.
The aroma had fresh melon/honeydew flesh up front with some pineapple and eye semi-spicy notes. Semi-sweet wheat with mango and peach punch at some piney zesty hints.
The flavor seems to lead with the semi-sweet tones of the wheat, rye and melon. Some pineapple, mango and peachy hints came across just before the aftertaste hits. The aftertaste leaned towards a melon/pineapple, rye sweet and a subtle touch of wildberries.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good like a New England styled one, nice and low. Some stickiness clinging to my tongue. Finishes with sticky yet a kind spicy rye note.
Overall, I liked this one for me yes, it's a bit different for a lot of New England styled IPA's but I'd say it still fits for the most part.

A: hazy; medium gold in color; 1 finger ivory head that receded to a thin collar; nice lacing;

S: spice from the triticale, melon, berries, and pineapple;

T: melon and berries up front; finish is fruit candy with mild bitterness;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: anyone looking for a cloudy fruit bomb will be disappointed; that said, I enjoyed the spice from the triticale;

16oz. can served in a tulip pint. Pours a dull, milky orange with a hazy clarity and a loose, fizzy, half-inch, off-white head that sizzles and pops and quickly dissipates towards the edges. Nose a balanced co-mingling of citric acid and pith. Taste follows nose with a kiss of bready malts towards the finish. Mouthfeel is light oil body with a bright carbonation and a pleasant acidity. Overall, solid but nothing to write home about.
