On tap during the 2012 Great Pumpkin Festival held at the Cambridge Brewing Company on 10/27/12. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a clear copper, with a ½ finger covering of off-white head. Solid retention here, leaving a smattering of foamy lacing down the sides. The aroma smells of fresh pumpkin, fruit, sticky sugars and light spices. This is overall pretty dark and sticky in the nose.

The taste has a nice pumpkin flavor going on with it, with a nice green feel that is complimented well by a lot of fruity and spicy esters and brown sugar character that gives this a dark and sticky touch. This finishes with a touch of dry lingering bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a soft crisp feel on the palate. That nearly 7% ABV is well hid for the most part.

This was nice. It definitely had that Belgian Brown feel, with plenty of dark sweetness, fruit and spice notes but then also a fresh tasting pumpkin component that worked well with them. I’ve never heard of Cinderella pumpkins before but they definitely put out a lot of pumpkin flavor. Well done.

Served in a tulip at the brewery on 10/07/2012.

Nearly opaque, dusty maple in color beneath a thin off-white head with above average retention; thin lacing with decent strength. The aromas boast slightly sweet toffee and caramel notes with some nutmeg and maybe cinnamon. Caramel and brown sugar up front with a bit of dark fruit as well. The alcohol character is a touch winey; however, the dry finish removes any slickness. A touch heavier than medium on the palate; smooth and dry. I know that pumpkins were used in the recipe, but the flavors are so subtle that they are really difficult to even notice.
