Style: Belgian Pale Ale
Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.30%
Availability: Limited (brewed once)
Notes / Commercial Description:
As longtime friends, Russian River brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo and our own Brian Grossman are no strangers to brewing experiments. While looking for inspiration for this collaboration, Vinnie and Brian decided to honor the creations of legendary Belgian brewer Yvan De Baets with their own hop-forward American-Belgian mash-up.
From complex Belgian-inspired styles to American wild ales and hoppy Double IPA’s, Russian River always pushes boundaries while respecting technique and quality. Co-owners Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo are longtime friends of Sierra Nevada and they always have a six-pack of Pale Ale in their fridge at home.

Pours into a small tulip glass a clear lemony yellow with a fluffy one finger white head that leaves no lacing as it settles.Citrus fruits and phenols in the nose, although not a fan of over phenolic beers this goes well with the big citric notes.A big hit of the yeasty phenols upfront but a big splash of lemon oils in the finish,it really hits the back of the tongue. Not bad and good for the warm weather, not a huge fan of the style but this one I kinda like.

Poured from a bottle into my tulip, this beer was a gold color with a small white head.
Aroma of banana, sweet fruit, and herbal spiciness. The herbal aroma was most apparent.
Banana taste, some kind of fruit, herbal. Some hard candy type of taste.
A dry mouthfeel, but there was a bit of an aftertaste that wasnt entirely pleasant.
Overall, though, a pretty good beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear straw yellow with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is banana bubblegum and spices with some earthiness.
The flavor is sweet bready malts, banana, bubblegum and some spice (pepper, coriander). The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with creamy texture.
Overall, I didn't really care for this one.
