Our friends at Oskar Blues pioneered great beer in a can and, as mutual members of the canned craft club, this partnership was a perfect fit. CANfusion is a coming together—a fusion, if you will—of flavors from across the spectrum of brewing: spicy rye, tangy wheat and a bright citrusy hop aroma.
Oskar Blues is the granddaddy of canned craft beer. Like us, they have a fun-loving passion for the outdoors and bikes. It was a natural fit for them to adopt cans as a portable, durable way to tote their favorite beer on the trail, and in the process they paved the way for all other craft brewers to follow.

12oz can poured into an Idle Hands tulip.
A - Pours a neutral amber color with excellent clarity and a finger of frothy off-white head that shows decent staying power. Foamy lacing left on the glass as the head recedes.
S - A bit herbal and spicy up front - rye malt, a bit of caramel, citrus and grassy hops, grapefruit.
T - Grassy, fruity and estery, spicy rye. A touch of caramelly sweetness and a bit buttery too.
M - Soft and a bit oily in feel. Medium body with a lighter medium carbonation that is tingly but unobtrusive.
O - Not bad...not my favorite style, but quite drinkable. Nice hop presence cuts the malt enough to really balance this off nicely. Worth a shot.

Reviewed from (very long-standing) notes. Consumed in late 2014. Poured from a 12 oz. can into a Fat Head's pint glass.
A: A mildly hazy bright copper, with average visible carbonation and a thin white head that fades quickly.
S: Lightly toasted bready malts and light resinous hops.
T: Biscuity malts and a mild rye spiciness up front. Resinous pine, citrus pith and grassy hops swell up on the back end and linger with a significant bitterness in the hang.
M: Average heft to the body, and a good amount of visible carbonation. The alcohol presence is well-hidden for the listed ABV.
O: Well, it's not at all what I expect in a bock beer. Nor anything that would have made me call it a lager at all. But it's a nicely hoppy, easy to drink beer that I enjoyed. Ratings are given as to my preference for a beer in general. I'd estimate ratings to style to be significantly lower.

Canned 6/3/14; drank 7/14/14 @ the Yarchives.
Poured from the can into a glass.
Clear orange/red hue.
Big cream-colored head; strong lace.
Mild citrus, wheat & fresh soap nose. Refreshing!
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Mild mango & fresh wheat flavor, with a mild hop bite flavor. So yes, "mild", but refreshing & easy to drink without being boring. Good.

On tap at PreFunk. Dark golden, creamy head, some rye sourness added to the Bock malts. Hints of a sour ale, very interesting. Complex, and delicious.
