Pours into an impy nonic a dull medium golden with a half finger quick to fade whaite head that left two borken rings of lace as it settles quickly.Pungent earthy hops with some leafiness and mild lemon, very English in the nose.More English attributes on the palate with it's earthy and leafy hops dominating, again the lemon is there but plays a secondary role, sweet biscuit malt flavors are big as well. Not bad it's something I would like to try on cask,to me it's very "English" in nature.

Poured into an IPA glass, this is a slightly hazy gold in color with a two-finger head that condenses to a dense, thin layer of foam that leaves plenty of lacing down the glass.
The aroma is dank with citrus and lemon behind.
The taste is citrus and pine and some dankness with some caramel mid-taste and a lingering piney bite at the end.
Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat sticky.
Another interesting and tasty single-hop IPA.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic pint.

Appearance (4.25): Clear, burnished gold with frothy white head and decent lacing.

Smell (3.75): Floral and herbal notes, some light citrus. Seems to be some wet wood aroma as well.

Taste (3.5): Very focused on the hops, with mostly herbal and spicy flavors. Some citrus. That wet wood note comes back in the taste. The malts are pretty light and soft. The finish is very bitter without much lingering flavor.

Feel (4): Medium, oily body with moderate carbonation. Very dry finish.

Overall (3.5): Seemed interesting at first, but the bitterness turned this into a substandard IPA.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a deep golden orange with a lot of bubbles. Huge four finger white head with good retention. Leaves a decent amount of lacing.

Smell: A juicy, spicy, and earthy hop forward aroma with hints of citrus, peppers, and pine. Citrus hop esters with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, mango, melon, and pineapple. Earthy hops with hints of pine resin and damp grass. Spicy hints of peppers as well. Soft malt background with hints of caramel, grains, cracker, biscuit, and yeast. A very good dank hop forward aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy, herbal, and spicy hop driven taste with big notes of citrus, pine, and peppers. Juicy and ripe citrus presence with notes of orange rind, grapefruit, mango, lemon, melon, and pineapple. Herbal and earthy hop notes with some pine resin and grass. Noticeable notes of pepper spice from the Equinox. Solid background presence of malt with notes of grains, caramel, biscuit, cracker, and yeast. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy, spicy, and bitter with a drying finish.

Overall: Another very good IPA in this Harvest series. The Equinox gives the citrus and pine with a unique twist of pepper spicing.

Fresh (about 6 weeks old) 24 oz bottle served in a pint glass. Excellent appearance including a very good head and lacing.
Good complexity for a single hop ale. Controlled bitterness with pleanty of hop flavor. Excellent feel is crisp and lively.

Poured a wonderful clear amber orange with one finger of fluffy white head that receded slowly. Quite nice looking. Scents of cedar wood, pine resin, fresh red bell pepper, vegetal hop aromas and a slight hint of sweet pale malt and very faint notes of bright citrus. A very nice aroma profile that is quite unique and very intriguing. The resiny pine and dry cedar aromas mingle well with the fruity bell pepper and vegetal hop aromas to create a beguiling aroma. Flavor begins with a vegetal hop flavor, notes of grapefruit peel, a bit of spicy hop flavors and hints of pine resin with moderate bitterness and a bit of malt sweetness. This moves into a middle with stronger notes of pine resin mingling with cedar wood flavors and a bit of grapefruit and grapefruit peel, some fruitiness and hints of alcohol. Finish is dry with strong notes of cedar wood, pine resin, grapefruit and grapefruit peel with notes of alcohol and hints of sweet malt. Aftertaste is pine resin and biscuity malt with high, lingering bitterness. A well done flavor profile, quite hop-forward and very resinous, with pine and cedar taking a prominent role, balanced by grapefruit flavors and hints of malt and alcohol. A very nice profile that is bright and crisp, but just a hint too standard in its overall flavor profile to standout. Still quite nice. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation and a smooth, dry, faintly resinous and sticky feel. A very nice mouthfeel that is smooth, resinous and yet still refreshing. Very nice. Overall this is an excellent IPA. It has a wonderfully unique aroma and a very good, though very normal flavor and an excellent mouthfeel. A very good experiment that showcases the single hop variety used and still turns out to be a very good IPA.

On tap in a fluted glass.
Smells earthy like an old attic or antique furniture.
Peach, orange, and grapefruit notes from the hops with smooth malt background.
Very dry mineral finish.

From the bomber into a nonic pint glass.

A- copper/orange body with great clarity and trickles of carbonation. The head is foamy, pale white and has a certain fluff to it. It persists well and leaves enormous amounts of lace.

S- The nose is extremely sweet and floral, but it's a smell I associate with many SN beers. There's an earthy quality there and underpinnings of slight citrus, pine and sharp spiciness.

T- Here I get a cedar-like, earthy and floral flavor. The sweetness from the nose remains present almost throughout. The beer reminds me much more of the mellowed English IPAs than an AIPA. I don't get the wealth of flavors from this one hop that I'd like, but it's not bad by any means.

M- It's got a good body and a spirited carbonation feel, and a blast of bitterness at the finish. As already mentioned though, it has a good element of sweetness and floralness. It's clean and has no alcohol feel, but there is some dryness at the finish as well.

About as fresh as it's going to get.

This beer is gorgeous. Golden-Copper color with excellent clarity, frothy head and head retention, and very activated in the tulip. Classic SN Style.

Smells of fresh raw hops, classic house SN Profile. Shocker. Haha. No doubt after first whiff that this is a SN Brew. Woody, mildly, again, MILDLY fruity. Clean and crisp, but nothing to write home about.

Taste is a wee bit below the nose. Because it's so fresh, the clean and crispness is impressive, but the bland cedar (and Peanut Oil flavor?) overwhelm the fruitiness of the hop.

Mouthfeel is crisp and light. Again, typical house SN mouthfeel at this ABV.

Overall, I bought this because of the impressive freshness. Glad I can sample any IPA this fresh. No regrets. But this is par for the course.

Appearance - Pours a crystal clear, brilliant golden orange with an off-white 2-finger head. Good retention, leaving a fair layer of surface suds and some clingy, soapy strands of lacing around the glass.

Smell - Herbal quality and spice abound. Black Pepper and, like the descriptor on the bottle, bell pepper character makes it's presence known. Touches on dank and faint citrus.

Taste - Follows the nose. Black pepper spice and a bit of bell pepper herbal sweetness. Some woody dankness peaks through mid-taste, then finishes with a fair amount of orange pith bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, almost silky, and stupid drinkable. Semi-dry finish.

Overall - This is a nice, mellow IPA, but don't mistake mellow for lack of flavor. This exhibits a multi-layered complexity that's well constructed, yet goes down with brilliant smoothness. Sierra Nevada doesn't often wow me with their beers, but this one is methodically seductive, and quite original. I digs it. I digs it a lot!
