Pours a clear golden yellow color with a pillowy white head that leaves little bits of lacing.

Smells of herbal and floral hops.

Tastes of plenty of hops with a solid malt backbone. Hops lead off with notes of herbs, flowers, and grapefuit mostly with a lot of bitterness. Malts add in with some grainy sweetness and bread. Some spiciness adds in towards the end before finishing in a lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium with a slightly crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is solid, but I'm not a big fan of the hop profile.

Dripping with citrus, tropical and herbaceous hop character, Sierra Nevada brewers step outside of the classic grapefruit bitterness for a nouveau IPA taste that captures a taste of the land down under.

The bright and richly hued golden ale unleashes a forceful and fluffed cotton head that's breaming with tantalizing aromatics. Citrusty red grapefruit and blood orange ride alongside of tropical pineapple and passionfruit, topped off with a daring whiff of cannabis.

Its candied malt taste gives a mild honey and caramel coat to the fruit impressions, at least short term. Once the ale hits its stride, the sweetness retreats and leaves its starchy malt structure to support the developing hop bitterness. As gooseberry, lemon drop, apricot and pear enter the fray, the beer's smooth bitterness reigns in those earthy, grassy notes.

Where the bitterness is perhaps smoother than the strict hop-heads may prefer, its lingering taste of fresh-cut grass, chive and cannabis leaf provides the dryness, spiciness and bitterness to appease a wide range of fans who don't think that they like hops.

Pale golden hue light base biscuit malts, just enough liquid bread to highlight the hops from down under in this one. A beautiful thicket of white head forms nicely, fine speckled lacing left behind, it looks delicious.

Aroma has dank herbal and citrus noted hops, hints of tropical fruit if I really dig deep into it...barely noticeable bready malts complete the beer.

Flavor has big citrus bitterness, dirty earthy hops, tropical fruit a bit of passionfruit in this case. Dry finish barely a hint of sweetness from the light base malts, this beer is all about letting the hops shine.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied slightly resinous with whole hop oils, even well delivered carbonation...really goes great with spicy food and meat and cheeses...I'm enjoying the dry finish with a left over Greek salad with gyro meat and feta cheese.

Overall, I'm glad they threw in another hoppy offering with the Snow Pack with two dark beers and two hoppy beers I'm thrilled to get this 12 pack in WV grocery stores!

Very sharp and to the point. Like the edges of the boomerang it comes back around unexpectedly.

From the winter sampler box

Pour lightly hazed dull golden

Tasty, floral, citric, well hopped and basically quite tasty and enjoyable.

Wouldn't expect much else from SN. Quality IPA

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into IPA glass.

Appearance: Hazy goldish-blonde with thick, stark white head and great lacing.

Smell: Tangy tropical and citrus notes, along with some herbal and spicy notes.

Taste: The spicy, herbal and flowery hop notes are a little more dominate than the tangy tropical and grapefruit ones. I would have preferred it the other way around, but still quite good. The malts are minimal, and this actually seems to be balanced in the exact same was as their recent single hop harvest beers, which are not my favorite. However, this is not quite as bitter, allowing more flavor to come through, and making this a better beer.

Feel: Moderate carbonation, medium body, dry finish.

Overall: A good IPA, but certainly not as good as their standard IPAs (Celebration, Torpedo, Hoptimum) or Southern Hemisphere for that matter. But I guess I am happy that their standard IPAs are better than their one-offs; certainly better than the other way around!

Brilliant golden color with lots of minimal sized sediment suspended within the body. Easily an inch of tightly packed off white foam. Brussels lacing. Aroma is dank coppery scented hops. I take few sips and get the initial bitter copper metallic hop flavor. There's also light malt and a quick finish. The mouth is moderately carbonated and dry.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of white head that settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A floral, juicy, and earthy hop forward aroma with good hints of citrus, pine, and flowers. Upfront citrus hop presence with big hints of orange peel, grapefruit, mango, lemon zest, pineapple, and apricot. Floral and earthy hop scent with hints of pine and grass. Slight hint of a pepper like spice. Pale malt with hints of grains, cracker, wheat, and yeast. A pretty good smell.

Taste: Like it smells, a ripe, juicy, floral, and earthy hop driven taste with lots of citrus fruit, flowers, and pine. Upfront taste of ripe citrus fruit with notes of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, lemon, apricot, pineapple, and melon. Good notes of floral and earthy hops with some grass, pine resin, and spice. Backing presence of pale malt with notes of grains, wheat, cracker, and yeast. A very good hoppy taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Juicy and fairly oily with a drying finish.

Overall: Another very good West Coast style IPA from Sierra Nevada. Big lush presence of citrus and floral hops with a nice clean bitterness.
