Appearance: Slightly hazy apricot and champagne color. A soft, pillow head with very good retention and nice, drifting lacing.

Nose: Lemon and lime with pear, green apple and a finish of green pepper.

Taste: Crisp carbonation with a slightly buttery mouthfeel. A dry finish. Lemon and lime with a bit of copper, metallic, and aspirin.

Notes: A great idea, executed well. This bottle is from the Equinox varietal.

bottle picked up locally , bottled a little over a month ago on 2/23/2015...enjoyed from a single, fresh, wet & wild fest mini snifter. bottle touts that it is made with the idaho 7 hop

a - brew pours a crisp transparent soft orange with a thin fizzy head that left some sheets of lace on the tiny glass as i sipped the brew. transparent with some soft visible carb.

s - nose is straight up lager. no hoppiness to speak of...well at least no citric fruity blast. the bottle describes apricot and orange aromas which i do not get at all...but also fresh tea-like which is spot on. it smells like a tea centric lager.

t/m/o - as the nose suggested, this is not what i expected when i read "IPA" and although you could write it off as old and faded...it is not. lagery and heavy green tea. not your typical harvest ipa. kind of tastes like it is skunked...and has a macro vibe...a fairly big disappointment from sierra nevada in the IPA category. very skippable.

According to the label this is the first of four 2015 versions: brewed with "Idaho 7" hops. No freshness date. Smells more like liquid weed than any other IPA I've ever had. Taste is grassy, fruity, juicy, but with enough balancing bitterness. Satisfying mouthfeel with a dry finish. Incredibly well done. Wish this was available regularly.

Packaged on 07/08/14, yikes

Pours an effervescent honey color with 3 fingers of cream colored head. Stellar head retention & lacing

S: Straw, grassyness

T: Follows the nose, some light breadyness, a slight aspirin twang to this, plus dryness up front. Herbal hops shine through as it warms, grassyness & light bready sweetness as this warms. Finishes dry, grassy & with herbal hops

MF: Light/medium bodied, lively carbonation, decent balance

Not bad, wish I had caught this a few months sooner, I'm sure it was better, still drinks easy

Picked up at Mills River while visiting. Pours a lightly pale chill hazed yellow with big fluffy cream colored head that leaves tons of sticky lace.

Aroma is lightly dank, defiantly apricots not so much orange for me. Some light bubble gum and herbal notes. On a light bready malt base. Nose is certainly different just not sure I am getting into it.

Taste pretty much like the nose bready malts with skunk bud like flavors, lots of herbal notes medicine like and apricots. Finish is lingering herbal notes and light medium bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium smooth with light pep in the finish.

Overall glad i tried it, but not sure I would buy it again.
