Bottle. Clear as day. Bright golden color. Big, frothy, dense head. Lots of individual scars of laces that mark my progress down the glass. Looks exactly how it should. Smells of lager yeast, pils malt, spicy and sudsy hops. Some slightly sweet cereal grains. The flavor has some pop. A Pilsner through and through. Hops aren't overly intense yet the lend flavors of grass, soap, spice, and flower. Dry lager yeast and pils malt. Finishes with a touch of sweetness and a pale, grainy flavor. Sierra Nevada is really stressing this beer being a session beer. I agree that it is but also boasts a surprisingly full body. Perfect carbonation. A very well done Pilsner. This sixer will be recycled quite quickly.

Appearance: Clean golden, with heavy-duty head of white bubbles. Extravagant lace.

Aroma: Crisp and clean malts and grains, with a little toastiness. Smells fresh and lively, as a proper lager should.

Taste: Clean and malty with a tinge of hoppiness coming in at the finish. A very pleasant, easy-drinking, and well-done pilsner, and a perfectly refreshing beer for a warm day. Will drink more of these, yes.

Great Pilsner. Easy to drink but unique enough to force you to take it slow.

Excited to try this one as a fan of most Sierra Nevada offerings and well made Pilsner's alike.

Looks great in the glass. Smells sweet and not quite picking up the fresh noble variety of hops like I do in some well made pilsners. Taste is pleasant and enjoyable although like the nose, the Euro hop flavors seems to be missing. Has a heavy grain taste (good), and has an overly dry finish (not so go). Overall I enjoyed this pilsner, would definitely drink again, but there are several others that I would go to take over this one if options are available.

Pretty good.
L: Looks like a pils. Never been a fan of SN's bottles, caps, or labels though.
S: Fresh.
T: Crisp and refreshing. Balanced flavor.
F: Medium to light.
O: I've tasted a number of German-style Pilsners over the years, and this one is spot-on. Nice effort by Sierra Nevada.

12oz bottle with pry-off cap bottled on 12/03/2014

Appearance: Pours a crystal-clear golden with 1 and 1/2 fingers of head

Smell: Clean malt presence with biscuit notes

Taste: Biscuit and cracker malt with a hop bitterness that crescendos slowly and leaves a satisfying floral hop finish

Mouthfeel: Now this is drinkability! Very clean and crisp.

Overall: Incredibly refreshing. This a great representation of a pilsner without having too much hop bitterness. Well-balanced and well done. I'm looking forward to finding cans.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale to medium yellow in color with heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and faint hints of lemon yellow + golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy bright white head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of bready malts with lighter aromas of grassy, herbal, and spicy hops.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of bready malts with just a hint of sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of grassy, herbal, and spicy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: Very enjoyable and very easy to drink - a nice example of the style and I'm digging the can packaging since it will make this a good choice for outdoor activities & tailgating. Refreshing.

A: Pours a straw yellow color with a fingers worth of head that fades down to pretty much nothing after about a minute

S: Lots of pilsner malt and graininess up front, along with some nice floral and spicy hops. Very straight-forward, but very nice and to-style

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the pilsner malts, graininess, and spicy hop notes with the floral hops following through. Finishes quite dry with lingering floral and earthy notes

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Again, quite dry

O: A very nice American version of a German pilsner, with great drinkability and simplicity (that's a good thing). Highly recommended, but that's almost expected coming from SN

Really, really nice this one. Much more on the nose than one would expect from a German Pilsner. Definetaly some American hop influence on the nose. The appearance is standard, nice and amber and perfectly clear. Light half finger soapy head quickly gives way to soapy remnants and light lacing. Taste is great... bready sweetness throughout, some light yeasty flavor present. Hops are near perfect for me, if not this style. Again, more American influence than German, slight astringent bitterness with lemon zest undertones. Mouthfeel is tops for this style- prickly carbonation, not too flat nor too effervescent. I'd take the later- nothing is worse than a flat out of the bottle Pilsner, this is not one of them.

I wouldn't call this the most authentic German Pilsner, but it stands by itself and isn't afraid to cross the boundaries to create a marvelous tasting yet refreshing beer. I will be buying again!
