Its pours a golden straw colour. It has a nice medium sized white frothy head. Its smell is of wheat with a nice floral note. The taste is hoppy but not overly hoppy, it also has a nice dry wheat taste that is very nice. Overall not the best pils I have ever had but definitely not the worst.

Not impressive in any serious capacity. Serviceable for sure, and impressive that Sierra Nevada is able to pack so many flavors into a pilsner, but this beer really misses the mark because of that. There's a distinct funk, something ale-y, and corn. Too much going on. I don't really want more than one unless I'm eating, in which case it's actually quite good.

Can't believe I never rated this one! 12oz. bottle served in a Spiegelau pilsner glass. This beer looks lovely in the glass - straw gold with a translucent clarity and a tight, creamy, half inch, bright white head. Copious tiny bubbles are present effervescing in-solution. Clean nose - grassy/floral notes with a hint of spice. Taste reveals a bit of sour mash skunk towards the middle followed by notes of the grain bill at the back. Mouthfeel is light in body, perhaps a little more body than I would expect for the style, with a pleasant, even carbonation. Finish is semi-crisp. Overall, a solid German Pils at a great price point.

Golden yellow in color with perfect clarity. Poured with a short, soapy, bright white foam with medium low retention. Pilsner malt and bread crust aromas with a light hint of herbal hops. Medium light bodied with medium carbonation and a light smoothness through the middle. Bready and malty flavors up front followed quickly by herbal and light spicy hop,. Medium hop bitterness through the middle followed by herbal flavors to the end. Finished dryly with lingering herbal hop and bready malt flavors. Crisp, refreshing and incredibly drinkable.

There really needs to be a new category of "West Coast Pilsner". It's basically a hoppy lager. Tastes fine. Good brewery.
