Appearance: pours a dark brown almost black color with a short 1/4" head.

Smell: some roasted malt and cherry sweetness comes through to the nose.

Taste: roasted malt, cherries, vanilla, dark chocolate, and a hint of bourbon. Bitterness is moderate.

Mouthfeel: heavy bodied beer. Smooth from start to finish. Long lasting aftertaste here.

Overall: a slow sipping beer that is satisfying and has a great flavor profile. Loved it for dessert after a meal.

Pour is all pillowy darkness that remains throughout. This is quite a nice beer! Nose is of dark chocolate and barrel and molasses. Taste follows with the cherry coming through quite well, coming off as a nice cherry sweetness with a very mild tartness to finish. Could have used a little bit more body on the finish. Maybe a bourbon barrel and a higher ABV would have added some complexity. A very nice effort though, and one of the best imperial chocolate cherry stouts that I've had!

Interesting take on a barrel aged stout. Nose lends itself to a well blended combination of the bourbon, cherry and hints of the cocoa. The cherry is a bit lost in the taste, where big booziness and hints of the bitter cocoa come through. Mouthful is a bit thin for an imperial barrel aged beer.
