Style: Gose

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.50%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
In California, where temperatures often top triple digits, perfecting the warm weather beer is a priority. We happened upon a sweet-tangy blend of native-grown prickly pear cactus and grapefruit combined with the zing of a traditional gose for a vicious but delicious twist on the stodgy summer sippers.

Otra Vez is a tangy twist on the nearly extinct gose style. It combines the zip of prickly pear cactus with a hint of grapefruit for a bright and refreshing finish.

Salty, briney, sour and sharp. Would pair amazing with raw seafood!

Pours pale yellow with a little haze, and lots of head.
Smells faint citrus, taste is sour with a slight funk to it. Like a cross between a grapefruit shanty and a saison but not as sweet.
Feels light and well carbonated.
Overall: Liked it. Good hot weather beer.

Maybe not a standout in todays sours, but a solid drinkable beer.

355ml can poured into a stemmed glass.

Hazy pale yellow color with thick frothy white head that withstands with pretty good retention before gradually subsiding to a lasting bubble sheet atop and leaving slight amount of lacing.

In a nose, tangy fruit, grapefruit, tart, sour lemon, kaffir lime, orange juice, pear, artificial fruit syrup, salt, and a hint of coriander.

It is so fruity through the palate sensation, grapefruit, tart, sour lemon, kaffir lime, orange juice, pear, fruity syrup, also salt, coriander, and mild bready from its Pale malt base.

Light body with crisp and lively carbonation, the mouthfeel is sharp with sour and tart but not puckering with good refreshing feel and rather dry finish. Perfect for summer day as a thirst-quenching agent or good to pair with spicy cuisine.

This gose pours a slightly cloudy straw yellow color with a somewhat thin frothy white head. The smell is crisp and citrusy, similar to almost every gose that I’ve had. It is a little bit milder than some other goses that I’ve tried. The flavor is citrus heavy with grapefruit and lemon jumping out at you. It is slightly sour, but not too much so for a gose. It has a mild prickly pear cactus flavor a little saltiness as well. The body is light and it has a fairly high carbonation. It a little more shandy-like then some of the other goses that I’ve had, which in my opinion takes away from it a bit. Still, it’s incredibly refreshing like any good gose and a terrific summer beer. I also have to give it props for being one of the early craft examples of a gose, which is becoming an increasingly popular summer style to my delight.

Clear appearance. Light gold color. Thin white head that receeds into a thin collar. Aroma is sour, cucumber, nectarine, peaches and rhubarb. Taste like cucumber and the popcorn jelly belly. Slightly sour and sweet. Light bodied. The flavor finishes rather abrubtly. Good beer and very easy drinking.

Pretty terrible all the way around. Looks like a light beer, smells like a lemonade beer and tastes like a cactus shit in your mouth.

This gose style ale has a very light gold color to it. At first the taste wasn't really there for me. It got a little better as I drank the bottle. It was tangy, and a little salty with just a touch of citric hoppiness. Definitely a summer refresher.
