I had low expectations for this one to be honest. The sheer amount of "stuff" that went in to this beer made me think it would be an oddity at best. I'm happy to report that I was wrong. The color on this beer is awesome, hazy, orange with a tinge of pink. The smell is very farmhouse ale, yeast, funk, but also a bit of fruity like scents as well. The taste is all over the place which is kinda awesome! Sweet tea, peach, a hint of corn grain, honey, and funk from the yeast on the end. Really crisp and refreshing but never boring. This may be one of the best out of the box. Try it!

This as a crusher! Very drinkable and refreshing. Lots of fruit flavor and a little sweet tea feel. The color is quite different a grapefruit like pinkish look. Smell is a little off but overall for its unique ingredients it work very well. A summer crusher!

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a St. Arnold glass.

Look is a slightly fuzzy peach, and the head is off white almost pink. Hints at the fruits to come.

I can smell almost a kolsch yeast like aroma as well as lots of light fruits. Beer tastes like an excellent blend of a lighter kolsch with Starbucks fruit iced tea.

Delicious beer, light and easy drinker. Wrong for the rainy wet day we have today, but I could see drinking this on a sunny front porch. Really captures the sun sweet tea sense of the region.

Look of this beer really does reflect the name very well. It looks like orange gold sunshine sitting in my glass. Head is a short white foam the fades quickly to just a skim. Knows reminds me of Mandren oranges and orange bitters really quite attractive nose. The taste is a very eccentric collection of flavors. It includes citrus and rye along with extreme carbonation the comes off like seltzer water. The citrus is the star here for the entire flavor profile comes off in a very eppervesiant way. Reminds me a bit of a German lager. This is a very unique and enjoyable beer. If they put this in cans it would be a summer cooler filler for me.

I am not going to Beer Camp, GTMW or a whole host of other events again this year due to recent gainful employment. 8=( At least, I have beer to help take the edge off.

From the bottle: "2016 Sierra Nevada Presents Sweet Sunny South"; "This rustic ale features Southern twists including corn grits, tea leaves and plenty of sweet fruit - peaches, papaya, guava and prickly pear - for an easy-drinking beer."; "The South holds strong to its traditional flavors - tea, honey-sweet peaches, and corn grits - so we looked at those culinary cues for this Southern-inspired table beer. With a golden grainy malt body and complex tangy finish from the fruit, tea and herbs, Sweet Sunny South is perfect for sultry summer sipping."; "We brew in Chico, CA, and Mills River, NC, to bring you the finest quality beer."

After Pop!ping the cap, I gave it an aggro pour since I feel unfulfilled without a Crack! & Glug. The head came roaring up to form two fingers of soapy, puffy, bone-white head with decent retention. Color was a hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4), a kind of lemony color. The nose had an oddly familiar scent, but I just could not put my finger on it until I looked at the back label - peaches! Again! Are peaches the new pumpkin? But this also had another familiar, slightly sour fermented quality of silage. Corn grits! Holy Jeez-O, man. Wow. Just wow. Mouthfeel was kind of thin and watery. OMFG! I totally taste tea! Kind of a bitter peach tea, but definitely tea. I really have no words for this. I am not sure what to say about the finish, either. It was tangy, all right, but I just wasn't totally digging it. The tea was giving it an odd bitterness, the corn grits were making it taste like an AAL & I was ready to move on.

A bunch of Sierra Nevada homers reviewing this beer or something, it's terrible. An overly sweet mess of a beer, THE worst SN beer I've ever had and I love SN. Actually one of the worst beers I've had by any brewery, at least Bud Light tastes like water, this taste about what I would expect fermented peach vomit to taste like.

Beer Camp flight at PreFunk. A bit light and watery, saison aroma and taste leave you wanting more. Perhaps that’s the "table beer" concept...bartender said they were reaching for the peach ice tea vibe. Then why not just drink peach ice tea?

A slightly hazy dark amber ale with a striking pink hue. The head is made of fine white bubbles.

The aroma is dominated by tropical fruit but not the hops kind, there is evident papaya and peach. A slight corn sweetness and some earthy and melon-like hops in the nose.

More fruit beers should be like this with a great balance flavors in here with some tropical fruit taking center stage and partnered with herbal notes a touch of corn and interesting hops. with all that going on this beer still a clear saison base with a touch of fruit sweetness in up front but dry finish and a strong level of carbonation along with a fair amount of bitterness.

Tropical fruit taste, some orange.

Pours an odd color, nearly pink with an nice white head that leaves sheets of lace.
The aroma is funky, fruity and acidic with notes of green tea and tropical fruit.
Taste is led by sweet fruit, then tart and a bit of bitter followed by some funk. A little white bread, peach and tropical fruit and Lipton green tea.
Mouthfeel is thin, bubbly and refreshing.
Kinda weird but kinda good.

Gold in color with moderate cloudiness. There's a half inch of dishwater white sudsy head resting on top. The nose is very busy with prickly pear, guava, peaches, and papaya. I taste the guava, papaya, and peaches and tea. The mouth is very crisp, cool, and refreshing. Truly unique!

A hazy straw pour produces a 1" 3 minute white foam cap supported by continuous streams of rapidly rising bubbles. This is an active beer. One of the finishing hops is Huell Melon and the brewers have selected a saison yeast so the beer has fruit coming from three different directions. The nose easily detects fruit aromas from an arm's length away. Closer up the aromas become more tropical with a definite note of tea and it is hard to pin down which fruit aromas are added, come from the yeast or the hops. The palate is fruity with traces of tea especially with a tannin note of the finish. The fruit changes character as it travels across the tongue but it remains the dominant flavor. The body is light and while you can't taste the corn grits they show up in the body. The carbonation is medium high and it has some prickle. This is a full flavored and very refreshing beer that evokes Hawaiian punch but retains enough beer character to avoid being an alcopop.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of white head which settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A juicy and sweet aroma with a scent of fruits and sweet tea. Big scent of fruits and sweet tea with hints of orange, mango, guava, papaya, peach, pear, and apple. Malt hints of wheat, grains, and cracker along with the corn grits and some yeast. Sweet hints of honey. A pretty nice aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and sweet taste with notes of fruits and sweet tea. Upfront presence of sweet black tea with fruit notes of orange, lemon, mango, guava, papaya, peach, apple, and pear. Sweet notes of honey. Malt notes of grains, wheat, and cracker with some corn grits and yeast. A really nice taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Crisp, juicy, and very smooth.

Overall: A pretty nice Southern style twist on a light Belgian style. Good juicy fruit flavors from the tea and added fruit.
