Pours a clear, gold color. 5/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and slight lacing. Smells of citrus (passion fruit?), hops, sweet malt, slight pale malt, yeast, and a hint of wheat. Fits the style of a Fruit / Vegetable Beer. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. Tastes of citrus (passion fruit?), hops, sweet malt, slight pale malt, yeast, and a hint of wheat. Overall, aroma is better than the body, a little too sharp feel, but otherwise a solid brew.

July 6th, 2016 - A little appetizer to keep around through a meal or game night, with a summery smell accented with orange and lemon, and peach and as well. A light and effervescent taste, this could pair as well with a sandwich as it could summer barbecue. The extra stress on the citrus and tangerine is an extra round of refreshment, some a little peach as a hidden treat.

Bottled 4/7/16; drank 5/4/16 @ the Yarchives.
See-through orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge off-white head; strong, frothy lace.
Fresh cut grass, creamed corn, melon & mild lemon notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Banana & fresh cut grass flavors up front; dry ice tea & mild tart lemon notes on the finish.
A touch too dry for me but this has substantial flavor for a quaffable, summer friendly brew. Not bad!

One of the weirder beers Sierra Nevada has ever made. Pours yellow, slight obscured clarity, 1/2" white head on the top with ample retention going for it. The nose is a unique and interesting one, hay, tea, fruit and grain. Like a weird saison I guess.
Taste is a little more run of the mill than the nose is, there are still plenty of things clashing and melding, but ultimately it comes down to a one off tick that you probably would never go and buy a 6 pack of. Has kind of a more astringent than dry finish to it. Still grainy. A little bit of citrus lemon to it. Carbonation seemed more appropriate for something hopped heavier or more bitter. At the end of the day it was a neat thing to tick, but not really a poundable beer.

12 oz. bottle poured into a Willibecher.
A- Slightly hazed straw color. Head is rocky and white. Retention is great along with lacing.
S- Peachy, stone fruit. Very light grainy/straw. Some papaya. Very light, but prevalent fruity characteristics.
T- Peach and papaya. Very faint grain. Really nice and light.
M- Light body, with a light tea tannin-like astringency. Clean fruity finish.
O- Nice and light session. Fruity, sweet.

Bottle: Poured a nice hazy yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light rustic malt notes with some bready yeast, tropical fruit and nice leafy hops notes. Taste is a nice mix of bready yeast notes with some light rustic malt and some tropical fruits and leafy hops notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice mix of flavours with some really good drinkability.

Pours a slightly hazy straw, with fine particulates & effervescence boiling up from the bottom of the globlet. A careful pour produces a huge, white, moderately lasting, foamy head that fades to a nice surface cap, thick collar ring & blotches & streaks of clumpy lace. The aroma is a bright blend of Saison yeast, perfumey tropical & peach fruitiness, pale malt, grain/corn & a lemony acidic sourness with hints of earthy & leafy hops. Oddly I don't pick up much wheat. Taste is fruity peaches & tropical fruit, grain, pale malt, corn sweetness & phenolic Saison yeast with hints of lemon, earth, tea, herbal & earthy hops. There is something vegetal which I feel is from the prickly pear. Finishes dry & mildly acidic with a light, citrusy bitterness that lingers into the earthy, dry & mildly tart but short lived aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with excellent carbonation, crisp, dry with a light prickle. An interesting, nice but divergent brew for the style. If it were a 1950's B movie it might be titled: Saison Meets Fruit Beer Meets Adjunct Grains. Very drinkable. This should be considered for a summer seasonal or at the very least a summer variety pack brew.

Poured into a snifter.
3.0 A: Moderately hazed yellow gray color. Two fingers of foamy off-white head. Retention is a bit below average and just a wisp or two of lacing are left.
4.5 S: Lovely fruitiness. Big peach and guava component in this. Papaya is a little weaker but still robust. I'm pretty sure I have no idea what a prickly pear smells like. On the next layer, there's herbal and floral components and a lemony tartness. Hay, dried woodiness, and wildflowers. Really nice nose!
4.25 T: This tastes like a really complex saison. Fruits as per above. Peppery yeastiness. Herbal, floral - wildflowers. Hay, grassiness, tea, and surprisingly clean maltiness.
4.25 M: Lighter body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly spritzy and super smooth.
4.25 D: Very good beer. After one bad and one mediocre beer from this mixed case, this one makes a case to justify the high price tag.
