Appearance: Hazy golden, with a nice head of off-white foam. Thin line of lace.

Aroma: Crisp tropical and citrus hops, with grapefruit, mango, and pineapple coming around.

Taste: Light and very drinkable, with plenty of bitterness at the finish. Definitely a solid and enjoyable session ale here.

I got a Plato in a mixed 12pck from Meijer's. It poured a clear golden with white head that left a very nice lace. The scent had hints of grapefruit and bitterness. The taste was evenly balanced and was easy to drink. Slight bitter citrus was present throughout. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

"PKGD 05/02/16" & consumed 13 June.

Gold ale with a slightly yellowish white head. The head is big, fluffy, and durable, still going to the last sip in the glass. Nose is a pleasant hops blend of piney and citrus notes, with mild malt background. The taste is what the smell suggests it would be, nicely blended IPA-style hops over malt. Bitterness is obvious but does not exclude some other flavors, and this is what many "session" IPAs seem to miss. This beer doesn't. The explanation on the label that the name "11.5 Plato" refers to the effort to give the beer enough body makes sense, because this beer does seem to have enough - and yet still be in some ways light and sessionable. Mouthfeel slightly creamy, slight bitter aftertaste, nothing out of line.

Pours a nice and slightly hazed bright sunburst orange-gold with minimal white foam.

Biscuity toasted malt sweetness with a light floral and slightly spicy hop resinous aroma.

Grassy, slightly piney, citrusy, and herbal and resinous hop flavor overpowers a subtle toast like malt backbone.

Light-bodied, medium carbonation, crisp, floral, bitter, dry.

Overall, this is certainly a session IPA. Floral, herbal, piney and citrusy hop bitterness finishes dry and lingers with minimal malt character. Easy drinking brew, but there are many others I'd prefer over this.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a burnt/bronzed golden orange to brown color with a finger and a half of concave fluffy white foamy head. The pace of dissipation was nice and even. Light rings of foam. The smell had bitter grapefruit rind with a light pulp/pith - like slick - ness to it. Light citrus hops bounce in for a decent balance. The flavor starts bitter and then becomes bittersweet. Semi-sticky aftertaste. Subtle dry sweet quick finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing hoppy bitterness to bite on my tongue. Overall, I say this was a pretty good session IPA. I would have again.

Clear amber color with a finger of head. Good bit of lacing is left down the glass. Some dank tropical aromas along with citrus. Has a little bit more going for it than just hop water. Has a nice malt base that adds some bready character to go along with the hops which give some grapefruit and tropical fruit notes. Light body and the customary well matched carbonation from Sierra Nevada.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a willi glass.

Appearance: Pours a nice bright brassy gold. Fluffy, billowy, frothy white head, high retention. Clear as a bell; you could see for miles through this beer. Energetic carbonation visible.

Smell: Fruit pith, grass, lemon. Some dark tangerine and sweet malty biscuit.

Taste: Beautiful balance! Gentle hop spice, bready malt, lemon zest, earthy herbal warmth rolls into grapefruit and bready biscuity malt that lingers all the way through.

Mouthfeel: Lighter body, pleasant effervescence from the perfectly balanced carbing. Pleasantly dry.

Overall: I'm a big fan. "Session IPAs" are basically the new Pale Ale, since for some reason we Americans think IPAs are somehow more "crafty" a moniker. Anyway, this is a great, honest, flavorful, well-balanced Pale Ale if I've ever tasted one. Would hang out and drink these all day.
