Tropical Torpedo Tropical IPATropical Torpedo Tropical IPA
Notes: Inspired by island life, we created an IPA completely disconnected from the mainland. We used our one-of-a-kind Hop Torpedo to deliver an intense rush of hop flavor and the lush aromas of mango, papaya, and passionfruit with every sip. Enjoy our tropical twist on the American IPA.

Bottle from Albertsons. Having developed my palate with NW IPAs, I’m not digging this trend towards the NE style. Nice looking pour, small creamy head. Aroma recalls tropical fruit Life Savers. Taste adds a bit of bitterness, but still had the candy sweetness flavors.

Excellent tropical notes, but a disappointing aftertaste that feels like it should be a lager than an ale. It’s good, but I don’t need a beer to eat a fruit.

Smell: There are tropical fruit aromas that feature mango and passion fruit.

Taste: There are mango and passion fruit flavors with some peach and grainy sweetness.

Feel: It has a medium body.

Overall, it has some tropical fruit combinations with grainy sweetness.

Appearance - Pours an amber with four fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - citrus, tropical hops, orange, marmalade, pineapple, bready malts, and earthy yeast.

Taste - mild citrus and tropical hops upfront. The orange, marmalade, and pineapple follow suit. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes slightly sticky with the hops and fruits slightly lingering.

Overall - An agreeable IPA that boasts some pleasant tropical fruit flavour. I wish all elements were a bit more pronounced as the hops and fruits in this are very mild. Still, a crushable brew.

Comes in a 12 Fl.oz. bottle, great design, fresh and classic merged into one. Lovely hiss when opened, it's carbonated enough. 6.7% alcohol, so it shouldn't feel watery or light.

Top: nice and thick, long lasting off-white head forms. As it should.

Colour: beautiful dark amber/copper, tiny bit opaque. Hats off, it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Smell: first smell: iron :-/

*** this is the part where my review was lost from, now I try to replicate it***

After 5 minutes of decanting, it's fruity (pineapple and citrus) with malty tones, not very intense.

Taste: alcohol and fruitiness dominates with some malts in the middle. The hops are kicking in later, but their bitterness feels a bit weird (artificial?). Tastes a bit too sweet to me, yet it leaves a semi-dry finish. Medium body, nice, moderated carbonation. Bread and hops in the lasting aftertaste.

Summary: although it's a decent IPA and very well balanced too, I'd still pick Hazy Little Thing over this one, because that one is just more interesting, however this one would definitely win the beauty contest. But as in life, looks are not everything...

Pours a clear light gold colour with a gorgeous thick and creamy white head.
Aroma is fruity but not as severe as some modern IPAs..it has hints of tropical fruit and flowers.
Taste is like a good old fashioned clean non weed IPA with nice fruity additions that compliment rather than drown the real character of the beer.
The palate is very nice in this beer its medium/creamy but with good cleansing carbonation.
Vry nice IPA..really enjoyed it.

Pours a clear golden color with medium, fast fading head. Scent is pine, fruit and floral. Taste follows. Light mouthfeel and an aftertaste that starts fruity and ends with hop

It poured a 3/4” head, was a light honey color and had a mild hoppy and grapefruit aroma. Taste was very smooth with a very subtle citrus flavor which ended hoppy. A great beer.

Drank at CoolaBoola CoLAB.

A: Body is yellow, no haziness. Head is white, one inch thick. Good retention.
S: Aroma is very citric with tangerine, clementine, lemon and some other citrus going on. It's a fruit party going on here.
T: Even if the aroma is very interesting, the flavour isn't as it appears to be washed away by the power of the bitterness. I did expect this to be a downgrade from your regular Torpedo but it's still a very summer-y drinkable beer.
M: Body is low. Carbonation is medium. Alcohol is unnoticeable. Bitterness is medium.
O: Would love to sip this with my feet on the water of a pool.

Can: Poured a hazy bright yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of juicy citrusy hops with some floral undertones. Taste is also dominated by citrusy hops notes, some floral undertones with light residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but not as hazy as I was expecting and hops flavours could be more pronounced.

Clear amber with a frothy white head, somewhat lacy; A good rich aroma; A rich flavor, hints of citrus fruitiness hidden in the light hops, not bitter. A mild flavorful IPA. Nice. Good beer. As I sipped my glass of beer, I liked it better and better. It's not just a good beer, its an excellent beer.

A: Pours a beautiful marigold color. Nice finger head, quite frothy. Very nice lacing

S: Definitely tropical. Pineapples, mangoes, papaya, adds tremendous sweetness. There's a sense of ripeness with just a touch of herbaciousness. Malt is present so I'm expecting some balance.

T: Starts off balanced, then the hops grow and grow. The bitterness holds for a bit then finishes clean, but some of the bitterness remain. There is a good bit of sweetness that pops up throughout the profile that keeps things playful.

O: This is hop forward enough to be a quality IPA and the fruity sweetness keep things light and very drinkable. Probably not a sophisticated beer, but definitely an enjoyable IPA

Aromas of mango, papaya, and pineapple. Tastes a lot like a mellowed-out version of Torpedo, with general tropical fruit flavors. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Good IPA but I have had better from Sierra Nevada. Pours a hazy orange color with a good size frothy white head with good retention. Aroma is very mild, some tropical fruit and that's about it!! Taste and mouthfeel are a bit more robust but still understated. Moderate bitterness, primarily a tropical fruit presence. Moderate richness and bitterness and no alcohol presence. Goes well with food, but fairly undistinguished.

Poured an amber/orange color and was slightly hazy. The head was moderate with very good retention. The smell was subtle but very pleasant - a hoppy , citrus fruit aroma. The taste was an excellent combination of hops, citrus fruit and bitterness. It went down very easy, especially considering it's 6.7% ABV.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into conical pint glass; bottled on 02/28/19.
A: Pours a slightly hazy, dark golden color with a two finger, off white head, modest retention and a moderate amount of lacing.
S: Light aromas of pineapple, orange, and pine overlay the caramel maltiness.
T: Semisweet to semidry. Elements of palate follow nose, but caramel malt backbone is much more in evidence. Bitterness contributes to the complexity and crisp finish.
M: Light to medium bodied. Solid carbonation.
O: Enjoyable, fairly subtle, and satisfying.

Pours hazy gold with decent head and lacing.

The aromas are rather subdued but noticeably tropical (mango, pineapple).

Fruity flavors hit the tip of the tongue, but moderate spicy hop notes provide nice bitter counterpoints. However, the malts and grain are lacking in the middle.

The brew has a nice medium and well-carbonated feel.

Overall, this is a decent IPA but doesn't distinguish from other tropical offerings.

Pours a pretty golden color with a frothy white head the left some chunk lacing on the glass.

The aroma is pineapple and pepper. Ripe mango. Nice, not overly sweet.

The taste is of mango and light pineapple. Some grass and pepper as well. The malt is bready with a touch of honey. Well balanced flavor.

The feel is moderate with prickly carbonation. Nice balance of sweet and bitter on the palate. Drinks well.

A very good tropical IPA. I was worried that it would be overly sweet but it’s well balanced.

Clear copper, not much head or lace
Definitely has a tropical fruit aroma, with a touch of caramel malt underneath it all
Lots of tropical fruit hop flavor, not muddy like an NEIPA, though. A bit of caramel malt. Crisp.
Crisp. Refreshing. What I want an IPA to be
Would be great if it were just a bit more aromatic

Tropical Torpedo pours a bronze color, with a huge, long lasting, and massively lacing head. Big strong tropical fruit aroma. Flavor is smooth, some hops, but its big tropical dry fruits mostly. Good body and feel. Overall, a very fruity IPA.
