This beer is like tropical paradise.
The look is a bit hazy with medium sized floaty bits. Really active and alive. There was some gurgling carbonation going on. A lot of sediment and nice lace. The smell is what you expect from a IPA. Bright, citrusy with a tad of yeast.very pleasant. The taste is very good but, also very run of the mill for a IPA. Starts bright, citrusy and juicy. Most notably you get hints of grapefruit, passion fruit, Papua and maybe pineapple. Very little to no malt with a nice underlying bitterness thats build on the pallet.somewhat of a pine note with a semi dry finish. The feel is great. Robust medium body, light carbonation. Slightly silky on the pallet and floral. I highly recommend this beer for its big juicy flavor and lingering bitterness. A great ale from the forefathers of craft brew!

Bottle dated 10/18/18, about 2.5 months old.

Cloudy orange pour with a nice soft light tan head, good lacing and retention. Sweet tropical fruits, almost immediately going dry and bitter. Crackery malt but literally dry enough to leave you parched. Crisp and clean finish with remnants of that bitter tropical hop flavor.

A: The beer is a little hazy yellowish amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short off white head that left lots of specks of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of mangos and caramel malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has notes of mangos and passionfruit flavors along with muted hints of caramel malts. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought this IPA would have more in the way of stronger aromas and flavors of tropical fruits that would stand in front of the underlying malts. It did, however have a nice crisp mouthfeel.

Pretty drinkable. It could be stronger on nose.

Darker than I expected, soapy head, with a lot of movement to start off with. The passionfruit wafts up immediately, the smell is very fruity altogether. There's a sweetness that settles the passionfruit flavor, a bitter finish and aftertaste. Papaya's more present in the aftertaste than in the sips

Less bitter and more citrusy than regular Torpedo.
