Notes: In just a few short years, Tree House has made made a big impact on the beer scene with their approach to the IPA – low bitterness, intense juicy hop flavor and unfiltered haze. As fellow lovers of the IPA, we combined our styles – the classic American IPA malt body and the New England approach to hopping- resulting in lightly bitter, unfiltered beer with huge hop flavor.

Relatively clear bronze color with three-plus fingers of yellow-tinted foam head that leave pretty webbed lacing.

Mango, melon and pepper in the nose.

There's a very peppery bite throughout in the taste, coupled with some pine, light caramel malt, strong honeydew and a moderately bitter aftertaste, with just a hint of lingering mango tropicality.

Medium bodied with a very prickly mouthfeel. There's a touch of the pillowy aspect of NEIPAs, but it doesn't quite deliver.

Neither the best of the east coast nor the west coast, but a fine IPA regardless. Canned on date of 04/28/17.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a clear glass tulip. Pkgd 042817.

A: Slightly hazy golden amber with 1-2 finger frothy head which leaves patchy lacing.

S: Heavy peach, melon, passionfruit with dash of black pepper in the end

T: Similar to aroma with floral peach and melon with tropical fruit notes and a stronger pepper note in the finish.

M: None of the signature NEIPA softness, really a bracing bitterness with light-medium body and carbonation.

O: A decent IPA seems to favor West over East to my palate.

Hazy gold with two fingers of white fluffy head that lasts about ten minutes and leaves rings of lace as it drops.
Smell is fruity dank with light hop oil resins.
Taste is fruity dank hop oil orange zest and a touch of melon.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is lightly dry with a bitter sweet end.
Overall a tasty beer for those who appreciate a lot of hop flavors without being covered up by the hop bitterness level. From a pint can that is about five weeks from canning date.

Can dated 042817 into a tulip glass.

L: Pours slightly hazy bronze with 3 fingers of medium density white head with moderate retention and left mixed lacing.

S: I got a lot of mango and passion fruit initially, other stone fruit in tow, and some citrus undertones. Nose was enjoyable but a bit mute.

T: Definitely a nice hybrid, has some tropical juiciness but balanced by citrus and some earthiness that wasn't noticable on the nose. White grapes started to show up as it warmed. Finishes with some bitterness a little bit of astringency and both clear the palate quickly.

F: Lighter bodied and carbonation, felt slick on the tongue with a just a hint of tingling (likely from the astringency).

O: A solid E-W hybrid, which I'm really digging these days. Not that I don't enjoy both traditional West Coast or NE-style on their own, but I really like when the good attributes of both styles can come together and complement each other.

Poured into a snifter. moderately hazy golden-amber color with a large white fluffy head.
Aroma: tropical fruit, berries, pine, resin. Fairly bright and noticeable once the can was opened.
Taste: Dank and herbal background from start to finish with berries, mango, and peaches in the mix. The bitterness was on the West Coast side.
Feel: soft and velvety. A clean finish.
Overall: a fun and interesting brew. I appreciate the hybrid nature but honestly prefer one of the other with a more crisp feel with this degree of bitterness.

Pours bright golden amber with plenty of little unfiltered floaties and a big foamy white head that lasts then laces very well. Smells mildly of lemon, light melon, and a touch of pine. Flavor is very muted, again finding myself searching for just touches of melon and citrus. Feel is light and crisp, balanced with good carbonation. Overall, this was an ok IPA, but not was I was expecting at all. Cheers!

Pours golden and not too hazy with a fat sumptuous head of white creamy foam that lasts well. Nose is like orange juice at first then it begins to become a bit more herbal than orangey. Plenty of herbal hop and it's that hop that authenticates the orange in the IPA. This one is all citrus! Drinks creamy smooth but with lots more bitterness than I expected. Slick. Grapefruit is headdy and pungent. Catty hop. Tries to be juicy but it's too sharply bitter. There is a little alcohol on the palate.

Slightly hazy with loads of creamy foam.
Smells of pine needles, oranges, grass grapefruit, overall fruity and hoppy.

Fruit hop juiciness grabs my attention. Not as much pine here as in the smell. More grass and citrus of the orange and grapefruit kind. Bready malt follows throughout just in the shadows of the hops.
Slick and juicy mouthfeel.
Oops, notes of melon hitting my palate right aboot now.

Good beer.

6/29-17 - On tap at the Ginger Man in Manhattan. Served in your basic tulip glass. Golden rust color with creamy white head. Little lacing. Done. Awesome hoppy aromas. Again and again. Stronger as there is more room in the glass. Taste is strong hoppy, but not too much. So good. Very good. One more please, to be sure.

16oz can dated 4/28/17.

Pours clear gold with a light chill haze and a large, full, dense head of white. Retention and lacing for the whole glass. Aromatics are a mix of pine, grapefruit, and light tropical fruit. Subdued for the style. Medium bodied with a crisp, tacky mouthfeel. Some sweet malt starts the palate with a minerally, gypsum-like bitterness quickly following. Grapefruit and pine take the lead and no juicy, tropical character is found. Finishes with some lingering caramel malt and mineral-steeped pine.

This beer is lacking the soft, creamy mouthfeel of a NEIPA as well as the tropical fruit and low bitterness. It does exhibit the same gypsum-like bitterness and sweet malt of most SN's hoppy offerings.

A - Golden body, hazy but clear, with a moderate white head, lacing a-plenty.

S - Bright fruit, with some pine, and a bit of wildness.

T - Very fine fruit, mango and peach, a hint of pine, mild malt backbone, and a moderate bitter close.

M - Superb. Brisk, strong carbonation, mild drying on the close.

O - Lovely. A very nice IPA with fine fruit hop notes. Delicious.

Picked up as part of the world camp 12 pack 7-1-17 at TW Arrowhead for an average cost of 2.08. Canned on 4-28-17.

Beer poured a hazy golden orange with a nice white head that is leaving lacing behind.

Nose is fresh citrus, very nice.

Taste is lemon, grapefruit, and tropical. Pretty big rind bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and refreshing.

Overall a tasty brew that I was glad to have tried!

The body poured with a golden color and a a hazy texture. The carbonation was lively and formed white foam, frothy, head that was very durable. The aroma was resinous with pine and citrus smell. The taste was very tropical with citrus and melon, and then finished with a toasty malt flavor. The body was medium thick and felt very juicy. This was a very tropical take on the style. Not so sure about the west coast influence here, but tasty nonetheless.

Chill hazed golden colored ale with a tall puffy white head.

Strong with the hops and highly aromatic. Smells strongly of grapefruit and citrus. Lesser scents of pine and pine board. In other words it smells like you would expect a good IPA to smell. Tropical scents and the malt exists as a big scent of pineapple juice. Mild trace scents of aspirin, mint and menthol.

Starts out dry and fruity citrus on the tongue backed by a pine tongue depressor taste. Mildly bitter and quite herbal in the mouth, this does taste like they slipped some coriander in to spice it up a little more. Tastes like it smells bit it isn't harsh at all.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a strong but not harsh IPA. A very good balance between extremes.
