16th review on BA
Bottle poured into a pint glass.

App- Has the color of an orange sunset with a high carbonation level in the glass, poured a 1/4 in white head with good retention and some nice lacing.

Smell- Yeasty with the spicy hops and a bit of pine.

Taste-Very crips and gentle pale ale. Was one of the 1st craft beers I had a long time ago. It was nice to grab a bottle last night from my brother in law at a family party. The right taste to help people get into beer. One of the best Pales out there.

Mouth- Its up there with the better pales, even though people consider this one of the run of the mill beers for people to try.

Drink- Could have had more than 1 I tell you that. Too bad for the 1hr half drive home and the fact there was none left. May have to run to the store to pick one up.

Bought in London.

Brief off-white head with the hazy coppery amber appearance. I get the feeling I may have used a slightly wet glass.

Aromas are a little weak, but hops are noticeable. Malts and citric notes are apparent after a good inhale.

Taste of floral hops, then somewhat biscuity malts, caramel and citrus fruits, with a spicy hoppy end.

The mouthfeel was nice and it is easy to drink.

Bottled 2 July 2012. Tasted 14 August 2012, reviewed from notes.

Pours a very clear medium golden orange color. One finger of whitish head, relaxing fairly quickly to a thin cap, and leaving some nice little patches of lacing.

Smell is warm, malty, and crisp. "Buttery" comes to mind. Nice light piney-resiny hops (like those freshly grown, light-green spring needles) overlay that and add a nice bundle of variety to the basket.

Taste is a pleasant, crisp balance of malts and mildly bitter hops. This beer is definitely not over-hopped. Perhaps a little under-hopped, even for my tastes. But mellow, smooth, and tasty. Light grainy malts, some herbal hops. But pretty tasty.

Light-bodied, a little low on the carbonation. Finish is fairly dry. Good enough.

I can see why so many people point to this as an intro craft beer. It has lots of the elements of more extreme beers, but all in moderation and gently executed. A very restrained beer, and that's what makes it so good. I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but I wasn't.

12oz. bottle

Clear, deep gold. Medium to large, rocky, off-white head.

Scents of bread dough and lemon. Pine popped in. Pretty straightforward.

Nice hops - grapefruit. Biscuity. Bit of sweetness - caramel. Hint of pine. Pepper at finish.

Light in body. Medium + carbonation. Dry.

A nice pale. Very well hopped. May have to start keeping this in the fridge!

Pours yellow golden from a 24 fluid ounce bottle. Aroma is of piney hops with with some sweetness. Head develops into 1 head and then goes away within a minute or two. Sip reveals a piney hops flavor with some bitterness if held in the mouth for a while. Hops seems to dominate here. A very solid beer that you can find in many run of the mill places. Not citrusy hops flavor. Still a pale ale without running into the IPA category. Some slight sweetness too.

A - orange copper colored body with a small head that dissipates quickly leaving only a small ring around the rim of the beer.

S - floral and fruity hops are the most noticeable smell.

T - floral hops and citrus. The hop bitterness and sweetness are a nice balance. Nice bitter aftertaste.

M - crisp and smooth with a dry finish. medium bodied.

D - excellent drinkability.

A: about 1-1 1/2 fingers head; darker yellow and very carbonated. Head retention is very long lasting.

S: Clove and hop smell - pretty weak but nice.

T: Weak clove and hop taste, this beer isn't very bitter and is quite mild; however, it is still good and there is a nice noticeable barley flavor in the beer.

M/D: Very drinkable with nice smooth mouthfeel. For a beer that you can get pretty much anywhere this was pleasant.

I was very happy with this beer, its been around for a good while and ive enjoyed it for a long time, but not untill recently have i actually savored every aspect of beer. Ive just recently started "tasting" beer for what it really is, delicious. I'd rank Sierra Nevada as a very drinkable beer but not for the "casual" drinker. Anyone whom enjoys a nice hoppy flavor with a slight bite(bitterness) will enjoy this beer. It delivers a nice pour with a head that dissipates to generous lacing, Golden brown in apperance, with an aroma of floral, the taste is slightly bitter with a hint of pine, and finishes clean.

On tap at a local wing joint. Almost as tasty as from the bottle, but I feel like the hops don't show up quite as well on tap. Still very drinkable, quite crisp and refreshing, and leaps and bounds better than most of the taps at typical bars in SoCal

Pours a (not surprisingly) pale yellowish amber with a nice head. Floral and pine scent, which blends into ... floral, hop, and pine taste overtones. This is one of the benchmark pale ales, and it stands up well on a price per taste ratio. Certainly not my favorite beer, but does have a nice blend of party affordability and taste.

Pours a light golden color with great clarity and moderate carbonation. The head is not particularly impressive, a little thin.

A fairly weak odor, wet grains with a distinctive floral hop flavor. More subtle than I would expect.

The taste is far richer with an initial sweetness that yields to complex hopes and finishes with bitter hops. Well balanced with a good initial bite that finishes smoothly.

The mouthfeel is smooth with nice carbonation.

I can see having a few and in the past have.

It may just be the familiar nature of the beer but it seems better than the scores I've given its components would suggest.

Appearance: Gold, good carbonation bubbles, ok head.

Smell: Piney, citrus.

Taste: Nicely balanced between caramel sweetness and piney/citrus bitterness.

Drinkability: I could have a few in a sitting.

Finally got around to reviewing SNPA. I don't drink it much since we have a good local APA in Summit but the 6er was on sale so I picked up some. Nicely balanced, nothing too exciting these days, but would have been amazing 20+ years ago.

I finally got to it! This is my 100th Beer Review!

Light golden but cloudy body. White fluffy head. Doesn't look too carbonated as there are sporadic slow moving bubbles. 4

A chalky metallic smell of hops upfront. A little sweet and bitter as well. With the first scent, I thought I smelled vanilla but that seem to have diminished. 4

A very crisp taste, a little bitter, some pine and citrus in the beginning winding down to a buttery biscuit like taste. Interesting taste for sure, not sure if I like it, though. 3.5

The mouth is okay, nothing fantastic. Slightly acidic. It goes down very easy. 3.5

Despite the uncertainty of truly liking the taste of the beer and the okay mouth feel, this is a very drinkable beer. It's crisp, light, refreshing and easy to go down. 4.5
