The Bruery in Orange County is famous for its experimental , Belgian-style and barrel-aged beers, and this release fits nicely in their wheelhouse. Inspired by the flavors of an ice cream sundae, this rich blonde ale features cocoa, vanilla and raspberry, with lactose added for extra creaminess. Now you can have your dessert and drink it, too.

Last of this year’s case. Color: amber/pink/golden, small tight head. Fruity aroma, jelly jar. Taste is more of the big berry flavors, but some solid malts detectable, as well as a snap of hops at the finish. at 8% pretty big for a fruit beer, but more than just fake fruit flavors. Nice feel and texture too.

Booze, medicinal raspberry, some vanilla, and not a whole lot else going on. 1.5 years of age doesn't seem to have improved this. Why they didn't make this as a stout is beyond me. On the bright side, this was the last of the Beer Camp pack for me. Finally!

Pinkish orange, some suspended sediment, head that leaves a nice ring.
Slight raspberry in the nose.
Light grains, sour note, raspberry note. Very muted flavors.
Decently bubbly mouthfeel.
Meh, this didn't really do it for me. Among the worst of what was otherwise a stellar mix pack.

This pours a ruby reddish tinged amber. Aroma reminds me of raspberry syrup on a melted sundae. Slightly tart, I'm guessing from lactose, with that raspberry syrup lingering on the palate.
