Sierra Nevada "BFD"
19.2 FL. OZ. can, "PKGD 022718C11:22" and sampled on 052518
$1.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Look: Slightly hazy light straw gold body beneath a full head of creamy white foam. The head retention and lacing are both white good.
Smell: Fresh and inviting. Floral, spicy, herbal and lightly citrusy hops mix with gently sweet and grainy malt.
Taste: A bit of lemon appears alongside the floral, spicy, and mild herbal and grassy hops. It reminds me of some of the kellerbiers that I've enjoyed in Germany - but amped up! The grainy malt balances the hops, and is in turn balanced by the hops in both flavor and through a median bitterness. For a beer of 4.8% abv it packs a lot of flavor.
Feel: Medium-light in body and gently crisp-then-smooth across the palate with a fine-bubbled, moderate to medium, seemingly natural carbonation.
Overall: Really quite nice. Very "crushable" but also very satisfying. Superb! And at a great price.

BFD has a thick, white head, a hazy, bubbly, lemon-yellow appearance, with heavy lacing. Aroma is of pineapple and white bread. Taste is similar, with a somewhat odd, "twangy" hop oil bitterness. Mouthfeel is low medium, and BFD finishes mostly dry.

Big Fucking Deal or Beer For Drinking? Light, crisp and super clean. Some lightly toasted malt with a hint of citrus bitterness to keep it interesting. It's an excellent lawnmower or golf brew or when you want something light. Well done.

A: Pours a clear pale to medium golden yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a medium sized patch of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Just shy of moderate aromas of bready + biscuit + cereal grain malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness as well as light aromas of grassy + spicy hops.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of bready + biscuit + cereal grain malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. Light flavors of grassy + spicy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away leaving a relatively clean finish.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp with a clean finish.

O: Definitely named and marketed appropriately as this beer is extremely easy to drink and somewhat perfect for this very warm/very humid late Spring/early Summer here in NC. Enjoyable and refreshing with well hidden alcohol.

We don't have to forget that this is a blond ale. It's not going to have the complexity of an imperial stout or it's not going to be as popular as an IPA. But to be a blond ale it's very tasty. Sweet bitterness, citrus/floral profile. Light body like any blond ale and way more flavorfull than what I was expecting. Worth a try!

Poured from a stovepipe can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Clear light golden pour with 2 fingers of fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

S: Light citrusy hops. Mild pine and floral notes.

T/F: Light bodied... mild grains and a pleasant citrus forward hop profile. Orange rind and grapefruit. Mild evergreen and resin but citrus first. Well carbonated. Mild bitterness... super drinkable and light. Crisp.

O: A very easy-drinking hop/citrus forward blonde. Sessionable as hell... enjoyable... could drink this all day.

Pours a hazy gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight citrus hops, piney hops, hint of earthiness, floral hops, and slight sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Blonde Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is an elevated bitterness. Tastes of pale malt, slight citrus hops, piney hops, hint of earthiness, floral hops, and slight sweet malt. Overall, good appearance, aroma, blend, and body.

Canned 3/6, so about two months ago.

Translucent pale gold with a finger of thick foam which lasts as a cap. Bands of lacing are left in its wake.

Smells lemony, lightly bready, herbal. Not overwhelming, but there.

Tastes quite lemony to me, and of white bread. Lightly herbal.

Light body, light carb, dry, almost creamy, and absurdly easy to drink. My 19.2 oz are almost gone already.

If I was in need of a cheap gas station beer and this was available, I would buy it again.

Crushable by design, this was a nice light, crisp summery beer that flowed down easy but had enough flavor to keep my attention. Tastes of sweet malt, light caramel, honey, lemon, biscuit, herbs, floral hops and very mild peppery spices. A nice change of pace brew from Sierra Nevada.

Clear golden ale with a slight chill haze. Tall puffy white colored head.

Smells of fresh cut pine tree. Woody and herbal but it is all pine.

Starts out mild and slightly savory with a taste of pine board. Light flavored with a taste of minerals and water. Lightly bitter and highly carbonated.

Mouthfeel is on the light and highly carbonated side.

Overall, an OK beer but I would just as soon drink a SN Pale Ale instead.
