Notes: Brewed with a double-barreled blast of Magnum hops and lupulin dust.

Hops are the name of the game with a Double IPA, but we knew we had to take it one step further. With Hop Bullet, we’re using a new technique, hitting the beer with a double-barreled blast of Magnum hops and lupulin dust—pure, concentrated hop flavor—directly into the tank to emphasize the intense pine and citrus flavors of classic West Coast hops.

ENDING GRAVITY: 2.4° plato
YEAST: Ale yeast
FINISHING HOPS: Centennial, Cascade, Chinook, Magnum, Crystal

A good quality beer from Sierra Nevada, better than some of their other IPAs IMO. Their Torpedo was overly bitter for quite a while before they changed the formula. This one has a better hoppy quality than Torpedo. I don't need cold beer, the quality stands on its own whether cooled or room temp..

Poured a hazy amber with a hint of orange and a two finger brilliant white head. Heavy lacing is present. Citrus and hop nose. Heavy hop forward flavor with a bit of cracker and citrus. Hop bitterness lingers in the finish. Moderate body and carbonation.

This is my favorite style of beer, so I'll come in high on my rating. That said, this is one of the better ones. Hop delivery for sure, but within a nicely balanced delivery. I hope it remains available.

Double iPAs are not really my thing but it came in the sampler pack of bottles. This is a good example of the genre. Big hop burst of flavor that sticks around on your tongue for a long time. I call double double IPAs ‘tongue bombs’ as you won’t be able to taste anything subtle for half an hour at least. You only need one of these, but you will enjoy it and the flavor won’t disappear by the time you get to the bottom of the glass.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with no date. But the mix-pack it came from was packaged in April 2020. Sampled May 9, 2020.

Golden pour bubbling up to a modest, lacing-leaving white head. Decent clarity.

The aroma is mainly floral and herbal. Some breaded malts. Nothing overpowering.

Smooth around medium body.

A grainy sweetness begins the taste experience but then there is a mild to moderate bitter end. It is well-balanced and decently done but nothing that makes me want more. It does the trick you might say.

Drinking this at home due to the ongoing pandemic and the fact that I can not get a proper pint any where.
Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appears golden yellow with a really beautiful foamy head that lasted for awhile and fell into a nice cap.
Smells citrusy orange, grapefruit, piney.
Taste follows the nose, definitely hop forward with a light crackery taste.
Mouth feel is medium light for the style.
Overall, a very nice West Coast DIPA that I would definitely order again.

Great tasting IPA. Very Bright Hop flavor. Ultimately, I'v had way better IPAs than this. For a double IPA its full flavored but lacks body. Not impressed. However it is smooth. I say its a top contender but falls short of Lagunitas Maximus or Hop Stupid.

Clocking in at 8.0%. Pure goodness. Goes down nice and clean for the ABV. This is SN's answer to Pliney the Elder. It has many of the same characteristic flavors even if the body is a little lighter. Straight forward West Coast IPA. Grapefruit, pine, tangerine. On the hoppy side with just a slight sugary maltiness to balance it out. This IPA is incredible and well worth the price.

There is really nothing to not like.
Look: The amber/golden color with a perfect white head.
Smell: Piney hop, slight bitterness
Taste: The lupulin dust must be the magic ingredient. Might be the MSG for hop beers. You get all the hop, but without the bitterness. Fantastic!
Feel: Starts off slippery then a nice amount of carbonation. No burn despite the high ABV.
Overall: Again, what is not to like. This is an underrated beer that should get more love.

Slightly hazy, light amber, orange, gold.
Dense white head.
Smells of pineapple, orange rind, Christmas tree, light bro n sugar.
Tastes follows, malts are sweet enough to mask the 60 ibu. Mouthfeel is rich, lots of substance.
I’ve been shying away from ipas lately and going this on a whim. So glad I did, absolutely amazing.
Caution: it’s 8% and will F’ you up.

This was included in the Sampler 12 Pack I got. It turns out this is the best one in the pack, but only because it is the freshest.

Look: Hazed gold with choppy white head and good retention.

Smell: Citrus rind, honeysuckle, orange peel, grapefruit, pineapple, kumquat, and clover honey.

Taste/Feel: Citrus rind, orange peel, grapefruit, pineapple, kumquat, hops; clover honey, cracker, and honeysuckle malts. Excellently quaffable and medium-bodied, the perfect amount of carbonation.

Overall: This is an excellent beer! For it to be so good when it is nearly 3 months old is impressive. They got me with the old "put-12-slightly-stale-beers-into-a-sample-12-pack-and-sell-it-with-a-more-recent-date-printed-on-the-box" gag so what can you do. I will choke down every last one of the stale ones without enjoying them and that what these greedy cocksuckers want. Its OK, we can't all be winners.

355ml Can from Beerhawk online shop (£3.99):
Medium amber with a slight haze & a 0.5cm bubbly white head. It's mildly hoppy smelling with a pine bitterness & a fruity sweetness; sSome honey & tropical fruits show in the background with faint caramel & candy sugars too. The taste is bitter with lots of pine hops, slightly less tropical fruits & plenty caramel following on behind. It's medium bodied and quite smooth, not a bad IPA on the whole.

This is an 8 percent double IPA. Sierra Nevada did a nice job balancing the flavors of this beer - feels like an IPA not a DIPA. When the alcohol content gets this high, it can often be over whelming, I didn't feel that way with this beer. Overall, a nice mix of citrus and pine flavors that did a great job hiding the 8 percent ABV.

Gold with thin head. Smells of malt with some dankness, citrus and pine. Flavor is dankneas, malt, and orange with a strong soapy bitterness. Decent amount of booze. Not as strong hop flavor as expected. Quite sweet. Medium mouthfeel.

Look: It pours golden and very clear with white head. Head retention is low.

Smell: It has a bit of dankness in the aroma. There are some pine and floral elements as well.

Taste: The dankness is very strong in the flavor with pine and floral. There is a sweet grainy element in support of the hops.

Feel: It is medium bodied with a more sweet than bitter finish.

Overall, the sweetness does work with the hops making the presentation overall enjoyable.

I'm not getting much of an aroma from this one. Pours a honey colored yellow with a sticky, minimal head. Hop bitterness is the first thing to hit my palate and it explodes over my tongue like spilled beer. Reminiscent of some grapefruit sprinkled with a little sugar. Medium mouthfeel with a slight carbonation. Overall, a decent beer but I'm not sure I would seek this out on it's own. This was part of a SN mixed pack. YMMV.

I'm a big fan of Torpedo from these guys. I have to say, that I like this one even better. A bit more ABV and a bit less IBUs. I know this is seasonal but I hope that changes. Only way I could get this was a variety 12 pack. Almost tastes and feels like a batch of Torpedo and Pale Ale were mixed together with a great happy medium. However, I'm grading it as a "Double IPA" and when compared to many others, while very good, the ABV falls short for me.

clear light gold pour with a nice white fluffy head. some lacing.
fresh and piney smell
nicely hopped, slight bitterness hits early on and then resurfaces in the aftertaste. there's a candy-like sweetness that shows up in the middle to nicely complement that first hit of bitter. No single hop flavor dominates, the piney and citrusy mix well.
surprisingly lighter bodied than I would expect. only the slightest bit sticky later on.
took most of a 12oz pour for me to make up my mind but i like it. it's not the hoppiest you'll ever have but there's enough to satisfy and there's an assortment of hops in there that work well together.

Copper clear fluffy head good retention. Nice lacing.
Resiny citrusy grapefruity west coast hop scent. (There’s 6 different hops in here)
Strong hop presence but with strong sweet malt profile as well.
Medium to heavy bodied. Strong taste and feel. Kind of difficult to drink after first few sips but then gets easier as you go along. Not one of these ipas where it “drinks like a much lower abv”.
As with most Sierra Nevada products, they seem to range from ok to really good but not amazing.

Poured a clear gold body with a constant lace sheath down the glass. Aroma is clean with citric hops present ("very present"). Smooth, earthy, oily, dank, smidge of sticky malt and grapefruit sweetness in the background. Beer has a medium body and a good amount of citric hoppiness and while not complex is an easy to drink IPA. The lupulin dust didn't seem to matter in this beer (at least mine), but it could've been a key factor in how smooth and easy it is to drink this beer.
