Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Clear light golden pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. Falls fast with a solid rim of lacing.

S: Citrus and pine. Lemon zest.

T/F: Light grains/malts. Sweet citrus... with lemon and tangerine peel. Nice accompanying bitterness. Tea and resin. Light bodied. Finish is lemon and tea.

O: A little different for an IPA... bitterness well balanced... herbal and tea character as well as a more lemony citrus. Overall solid.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Packaged January 6th 2018.

Beaming crystal clear body, with a bright yellow bronze color with small occasional streaming bubbles. Head is fluffy white, big and rich, full of fine suds froth and lacing bubbles. Great classic looking IPA.

Small sensing hop angle tad bit of fade, but a pleasant simple pine and almost woody quality. Dense malt depth, chewy but with lots of almost woody bite to it on the nose.

Interesting palate for a DIPA. Has some decent malt backbone, but flirts with a session like quality mouthfeel. Powdery sensing flavors with a light touch of caramel softness. Flirts with a little bit of orange bitterness, and a bit of soothing tea like character also.

Decent brew, lacks a little bit of substance but decent.

Really enjoyed this beer overall and was more than happy to have grabbed a case at Costco for $25. Pours a clear, light gold with a bit of white head that laces nicely as the beer goes down. Nose is citrusy and floral with a bit of dank hops. The taste is similar but it also has a bit of earthiness to it and hint of tropical fruit and pine. Feel is as expected for the style and finishes a bit dry. As stated above, a very enjoyable beer overall that I don't mind having a couple of. Another great beer from Sierra.

Bottle from Hannaford
Slightly hazy light golden in color with a decent sized off white head that persists. Bitter earthy resinous hops with bits of grass and a faint crackery malt underneath. Alcohol is a hint ot present and the bitterness just a little harsh.

Bottle dated 01/08
Color is a light golden yellow beer with a little chill haze initially. I didn't get too much head, but the nucleated glass did sustain the white cap nicely. Walls of white foam that stays attached to the inner wall of said glass initially, and lacing is fairly strong the whole drink..

The nose took some time to open up, and was never too powerful. I get a light lemony-citrus lean along with some grapefruit and nectarine. Deeper whiffs bring me a little grape leave grassy notes. I get a light note of spring onion on and off with each sniff, and when I get it, it adds the expectation of a little bite to the taste.
The opening sip does have a light oiliness to it that leaves an ever so thin sheen of bitterness over my tongue. A malt is a clean palate for the sweet grapefruit, lemon (this grows a bit with warmth), and an additional sweeter fruit note that I will go with being mildly tropical, though the sweetness has a more artificial sugar (think a light note of stavia) note that fructose. The beet seems to be going the wrong direction with the sweetness growing towards the mid taste.

The bitterness does counter, though, in the form of grape leaves / grassy bitterness that takes a refreshingly short time to expunge the sweeter notes. It's not a jerky ride, however, as the hops notes allow for a soft landing once they've started weighing in on the beer. I am not getting the onion I expected from the nose - I think it has gotten melded into what I am calling grape leave, which to me has a certain green peppery aspect.

Feel wise, it has a a prickly sort of carbonation, but is overall fairly accommodating to my palate. I'd say this is in the softer IPA category bitterness wise. The bitterness just seems to gradually become more noticeable with warmth.

I could use a little less of that sweetness, but it's not as bad as I probably made it sound by using the term "artifical." I would probably over-classify this as a hybrid WC/EC IPA with a lemon citrus and green leafy/grassy hop profile.
