It started as a napkin sketch in a pub, an idea for a device that could boost hop aroma without adding more bitterness. We built the sketch, and the “Hop Torpedo” revolutionized dry hopping and inspired Torpedo, one of our favorite IPA style beers. It’s an aggressive yet balanced beer featuring the complex citrus, pine, and herbal character of whole-cone hops.

12oz Green and Gold labeled brown bottle with freshness date. A for available! Best mass produced American IPA?

A: Clear, copper-mahogany hue, excellent head, great lacing, looks like the west.

S: Why I miss the West. (now living on the Jersey Coastal cliffs)
Sage, herbs, jam, bread, caramel, tobacco, pear, esters. A walk on coastal cliffs.

T: Smooth, excellent crispness, piney, with hop bitterness, citrus, grass, toasted bread, jammy fruit, herbal, drying finish. Lovely finish. A hike in California.

Feel: Medium bodied, good weight. Great tongue tingle and finish. Like a well balanced friend, between sweet and bitter, and a clean, sunny finish. Alcohol is very subtle. Be careful because you dont notice it!

Overall: Let it warm, let it come to 55 degrees. Try it with different foods and friends.

Great with most foods. Tonight with Pasta & meatballs, but fish, cheese, sausage, lamb - all work.

Sierra's best?
In the line of great American Extra IPAs.

Exactly what I want from a strong IPA. Strong, piney, bitter, and a nice dark opaque golden amber color. If you want an IPA that is pine bitterness forward with only a hint of bite, malt, and sweetness this is for you. Easy drinking, one of my favorites.

Pours clear and amber in color with nice head and good lacing.
Getting pine and orange aromas, which are fairly strong.
Very nice tasting and a beer that you can enjoy drinking a lot of. Not as nice as the Lengthwise Zeus Imperial IPA, but definitely a very excellent quality beer. Getting malt and hop tastes, I feel that if it had a little less bitterness it would taste way better.
It is very smooth in the mouth and feels thick.

Overall a very high quality beer and I definitely plan to buy more of it.

IPA is my go to style and hop presence is important but that's not to say the more the better and the most hops wins. Balance is extremely valuable so it matters that the grain flavor isn't covered by the bitterness so using more grain for a stronger ale requires more hops and this one does that in great proportions.

Not as dank as I was expecting from the can but that's no bad thing. Pours dark, clear amber. Mild carbonation. Instant scents of pine, florals and citrus. Taste follows but with maltiness and subtlety. It's very mellow for it's ABV and dangerously drinkable. Lovely stuff.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a Teku glass.

Look- Medium amber, moderately hazy, cream colored frothy head, above average head retention, average lacing.

Smell- Pine resin, biscuit, clementine, floral, medium strength of scent.

Taste- Biscuit, pine resin, clementine, high strength of flavor.

Feel- Medium body, high bitterness, mildly astringent, average carbonation, moderately creamy.

Overall- Medium amber with moderate haze and cream colored frothy head. Bouquet predominantly malty with pine resin and some citrus notes. Flavors were overly malty with pine resin and mild citrus character. Body was medium with mild astringency and high bitterness. Overall this beer was much to malty for the ABV in my opinion. The flavor was strong, it just wasn’t one that match my palate preference.

This is, and has been my go to beer for several years. I have tried many, many IPA's, some were good at first, but did not taste as good later. It has the perfect balance of hops and malt. Full bodied, yet not overpowering. Still my favorite IPA.

One of my favorite everyday IPAs. It checks all the boxes and is just a really delicious IPA. Love the higher ibu.
