Style: New England IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.70%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
We're constantly brewing new IPAs looking for bold hop flavor. With this beer, our brewers thought it was so good that we decided to serve it straight from the tanks - unfiltered, unprocessed, and raw - to let all the fruit-forward hop flavors shine. The result is a hazy beer with modest bitterness and intense hop character. To some, making an unfiltered hop bomb may seem crazy, but to us, its a hazy little thing called IPA.

Look: Pours a hazy light gold color. It's hazy, but not as turbid as you would expect from a New England Style pale ale.

Smell: Bright smells of sweet lemon, orange, some tropical notes, and a hint of spice.

Taste: The taste follows the nose. I mostly got sweet lemon, orange, and orange blossom honey from the flavor. It has a long finish, but not an overly sweet one, because it ends with a nice bitterness.

Feel: The mouth feel of this beer is awesome. It has an aggressive carbonation which, along with the particulate matter creating the haze, gives this beer a creamy, pillowy texture. I loved it.

Overall: I really liked this beer. It was super drinkable and enjoyable. highly recommended

Pours a hazy gold with a two finger head. Smells of light hops and citrus. Taste is not overly hoppy but more citrus and pretty smooth. Easy drinker.

I'm feeling overdramatic but I just expected a lot more out of this beer. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it just didn't live up to the hype of all this hazy IPA stuff. Almost seems watered down a bit.

look - well carbonated with a 2 finger head that dies down to a 1 in about 2-3 minutes. body color is of more yellow orange juice.

taste - floral/pine/fruity mostly mango

nose - light nose - floral & fruity

feel - soft/fuzzy with a bit of a water at the end. I liked it

On tap:
Ok, I’m rating this along the lines of being an attempt towards the NE substyle without necessarily trying to be one, if that makes any sense. A hybrid.

Looks like a watered down version of a cloudy IPA. Body is an orange juice color, very hazy but not cloudy. Head is white and a fluffy foam that doesn’t leave. Minor lacing.

Nose is a slightly orangified grapefruit with pith. Fairly juicy, but the bitterness plays in to remind you of the last three letters of NEIPA.

Feel has a bit more thickness, but wavers on softness as there’s a decent prickly carbonation that pokes through it.

Tast follows the nose, with the bitterness flavor of pith there, but not as drawing or dry as a more classic IPA does, IMO.

The nose is a nice hybrid; the taste leans a bit more “new school,” with less bitterness; the feel could do a better job deciding one side or the other. Overall, a decent beer that I think SN can smooth the rough edges.

First had Hazy Little Thing IPA poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped “PKGD 120517,” into tulip pint. Mildly (not New England) hazy, and radler-like.

Poured from 12-ounce can into a tulip glass. Hazy (as advertised) yellow, with a couple of fingers of white head that left lots of sticky lacing. The aroma upon first opening the can was reminiscent of a fresh-cut Christmas tree. Big aromas and flavors of orange and orange rind, with a little pine resin, light malt, a light-to-medium mouthfeel, and a very subtle bitterness. Orange juice again on the finish, with quite a bit of lingering juicy tartness. This sample was two months past the canning date, but still seriously delicious, juicy, and drinkable. Well done!

Ok IPA but not special. Prolly won’t buy again. If offered would drink it no problem.

Light hazy gold color with white cap and lacing.

Strong citrus element in the scent that strikes me as more the grapefruit variety.

Taste on entry is at first a firm hoppiness that's not as citrusy as the nose implied, rather more traditional IPA hopping yet that quickly gave way to a more gentle, rounded flavor that yes, is somewhat juice like. I don't think I'm giving full credit for the range of flavors here, there's quite a bit, because the whole is so seamlessly joined I can't quite pick out where one leaves off and the other starts.

Mouth filling full texture with an almost velvety feel and balancing carbonation.

I can't say this is a true NEIPA style, not having any of the hallmark brands around to which I could make a comparison, but if folks say it is then I'm beginning to get the idea. I can say it's fresh (a couple of weeks), available and reasonably priced all of which are pluses in my book.
