Picked up a single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler on 9-17-18 for $1.49. Canned on 5-24-18; cold stored since purchase. Consumed on 12-26-18.
Beer poured golden orange with a beautiful white head that has some great hang time.
Nose has hints of citrus and herbal hops.
Taste is a fairly large malt baseline that melds nicely with hints of grapefruit and gooseberry but finishes with a harsh bitterness.
Feel is somewhat full and pretty smooth.
Overall a solid beer cut in the mode of the old WCIPA world.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. "Southern Hemisphere Double IPA"
12 fl. oz. can, "PKGD 052418C05:35"
$22.29/12-pk Southern Hemisphere mix @ Javies Beverage, Philadelphia, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a somewhat hazy amber colored body beneath a finger-thick head of densely creamy white foam that looks a little bit like whipped egg whites. The aroma delivers a combination of floral, piney/spruce-like, and mildly citrusy notes backed by a light spiciness that suggests black pepper. There's a little bit of malt there as well, and I should note that it's not the boldest of aromas but that's not uncommon in double IPAs. On to the flavor... the malt is fairly solid, grainy and sweetish and bready, and the pine and spiciness remain... I am really thinking it's like black pepper... but there's also some additional fruitiness beyond the soft citrusy which is like berries, and I think even cherry. interesting. I think I can safely say that I have never tasted a beer quite like this before. The head has held up well and I still have a solid, creamy cap of foam covering the entire surface of the glass. The lacing is very nice as well. In the mouth it's full-medium in body and smooth across the palate. All in all it seems really nicely done and I'm intrigued by these hops. I'm not sure if I'd want to drink two of these in a row, but I think that might just be because I'm not quite used to these hops just yet. It's certainly worth checking out.

De Decervecitas. En copa Teki. Jugando a Avernum 5. La mejor de la serie con diferencia, es como si las otras fueran versiones "abaratadas" suya. Citrica, con agaradable dulzor frutal y casi sin nada del toque metalico que encontre en las otras. Alcohol mejor escondido que en la IPA

A thanks to the incredible woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, some herbal notes. Taste is citrus, pine, light malts and herbs are present. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is decent, but nothing special

Pours a clear maize color. 1/2 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of citrus hops, floral hops, slight sweet malt, hint of pine, and slight tea. Fits the style of an American Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. There is a strong bitterness. Tastes of citrus hops, floral hops, slight sweet malt, hint of pine, and slight tea. Overall, good blend, low alcohol, good appearance, and decent aroma and body.

A: Pours a copper color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves good lacing
S: Citrus and tropical fruit up front along with some herbal and piney notes
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with some citrus and tropical fruit along with much stronger pine than in the nose. Remains moderately bitter. Some malt comes in to balance. Finishes with lingering citrus and pine
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O: A solid DIPA that is easy to drink. NZ hops galore

Aroma is pine backed by citrus, but pine dominates. Golden almost clear but for a very slight haze. Tall just-off-white heat, thick and creamy, fading slowly leaving good-looking lacy patterns. Moderately thick feel. Initial taste is rich and malty, with the hops contributing the pine and some citrus. Middle is where the bitterness begins, growing into the aftertaste, leaving a lingering bittering on the tongue. As I said, the flavor is rich - meaning a complex interplay of the hops and malts. Very nicely done.

Appearance: Clean copper, with a huge off-white head and webs of lace.
Aroma: Crisp citrus and fruity hops.
Taste: Fruity hoppy with a heavier body but balanced palate and little hint of the high ABV. Finishes a bitter fruity. Everything here is in the right place. Superb!

Nice gold color with bountiful white cap and good lacing.
Aroma of piney, citrusy hops that are clean, fresh and inviting.
Taste is a good deal more malt forward than I was expecting. It's a rich malt, slightly caramely, full bodied in it's own right and stands equal in height to the hops. The hop combination is intriguing, not only is it multi flavored the flavor streams flow together, weaving in and out, one singing a bit more loudly yet quickly replaced by another yet all in harmony. An impressive display of talent here. I expect large hoppiness in a double IPA yet this team of hops all pull together while at the same time displaying almost a restraint as if we all know where we're going but there's no hurry to get there. Complex and well made.
Full texture with balancing carbonation.
Remarkably smooth for such a powerful brew, this well may be the pick of the pack.
