Fantastic HazeFantastic Haze
Notes: We were in search of something fantastic. Something juicy, something hazy, something ripe with notes of mango, melon and citrus. So we said, "Reason be damned," and filled our kettles with five hop varieties and loads of malt, oats and wheat. Some may call that absurd. We call it absurdly fantastic.

Malts: Two-row Pale, Oats, Wheat
Hops: Chinook, Azacca, Amarillo, Idaho 7, Strata
Yeast: Ale Yeast

The peach colored cloudy body was very similar to orange juice in looks. The smell was full of citrus fruits and was oddly stronger at arm's length than close by, where it got masked by the carbonation. The taste was very citric, evoking grapefruit and tangerine, with a bitterness reminiscent of biting into the pith. The finish was tangy and short, and mouthfeel soft. The alcohol was very well hidden, Nice DIPA in the New England style from the reliable Sierra Nevada.

A - Pours bright orange body, hazy translucency, with a moderate white head that fades to a cap that persists. Lacing is sticky, decent.

S - Pungent hop hit, citrus and orange soda, a wisp of pine and resin.

T - A lot of citrus out front, mango and pineapple tropical notes, soft malt backbone, quiet and slightly tart finish.

M - Solid carbonation and soft, light feel, with a clean, subtle finish.

O - This beer is so easy and pleasant. It hides its heft with an approachable range of hops, and delivers an experience that is quite satisfying. Solid.

Very pleasant not over powering "Citrus" IPA, easy to drink and to forget it is 8%. Packed at Costco with Torpedo and 3 others, a great flavor fest. I would definitely recommend trying this one if you like Sierra Nevada's other offerings.

Got this in a 12oz ca.

Pours an opaque orange with a white foamy head that subsides to lacing.

Has a pine and citrus aroma on opening. Tastes of citrus and pineapple. Very light hop bitterness at the finish that diminishes as my glass warmed.

Somewhat syrupy feel. Medium body and carbonation. The high alcohol level hides well.

One of the better takes on a NE IPA by a west coast brewer that I have tried lately.

12oz can 02/19/20
Poured into a tulip glass – lovely cloudy amber with some copper hues and faint white head and fine effervescence.
Smell is full of tropical fruits, some citrus, melon, bubble gum (original flavor) and a pleasant sweet biscuit like note.
Taste is sweet malts forward, citrus, a bit of pithy bitterness and hints of melon/honeydew and some mid notes of grassy, a bit of mango, pineapple and plenty of astringency leaving a fairly clean finish.
Medium bodied with good amount of prickly carbonation, bit of an alcohol twang and faint piney notes throughout to balance the overall sweetness.
Overall, a really tasty beer, good price point – notes a little reminiscent of Dogfish 90/120 minute IPA – quite good.
Not a super hoppy beer – no bitter beer face here – pleasant, easily quaffed beer with a pretty well hidden ABV.

Canned 10/9/20

Perhaps it’s needless to say, but this one was forgotten in the fridge for quite some time now. Oh well. I know people on here tend to complain about Sierra Nevada brewing NEIPAS/DIPAS, but I’m honestly more curious than anything to see what their take on the style is like

Pours a hazy orange gold with 3 fingers of fluffy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

I’m not sure if it’s a product of the hops fading, but this does not veer into the sweet fruit territory that many do, rather leaning into floral notes. I’m picking up on aromas of floral hops, juniper leaves, caramel malt, sweet orange, and light melon

This is a bit sweeter in taste and more fruit forward, but it’s pretty good for what it is. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting earthy hops, lemon rind, sweet melon, bready malt, white pepper, and a touch of bubblegum. The swallow brings notes of orange marmalade, floral hops, caramel malt, white pepper, and fresh dough

A medium full body pairs with very gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth and slick beer. Finishes off dry with a touch of spice

While this is nothing spectacular, it is still damn solid; just not a true NEIPA. Then again, it’s a welcome surprise

LOOKS: Hazy cross between gold and orange with a very small foam that is gone quickly.
AROMA: Kinda muted. A bit of citrus, and tropical smells. Can't really pick out anything that is distinct.
TASTE: Not good. Alcohol cuts through. Almost tastes like a glass of some kind of cleaner.
FEEL: PLenty of carb, dry, and medium fullish body.
OA: Approaching drain pour. Bad can, maybe?

Pours out to a hazy orange, forming a tall sticky and poofy head with beautiful retention and sticky solid sheets of lace. Nose of pineapple juice, orange juice, pine. Very fruity and juicy. Mouthfeel is sticky and thick with a dense body and a little bit of warming alcohol. The taste is a recap of the aroma. Very juicy and fruity....lots of pineapple, overripe/semi funky orange juice, mango, papaya and then some pine in the finish. No off aromas or tests.
A pretty awesome, very juicy hazy IPA. Would get this again. Packs a punch considering how drinkable it is. Easily crushable.

Poured from a can into a snifter glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy orange color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is very strong of a tropical fruit smell mixed with tons of orange and crème. The tropical fruit notes are of a tangerine, papaya, and mango nature. There are notes of a vanilla smell as well as notes of a light bready smell. It smells a whole lot like a tropical fruit orange creamsicle. Quite nice and inviting.
Taste – The taste begins with a big tropical fruit flavor with lots of tangerine and tropical fruits of tangerine, papaya, and mango. Along with these flavors comes some flavors of a light grassy taste as well as a decently strong doughy backbone taste. As the taste advances, some of the sweet transitions as the tropical fruits dwindle a little bit. All the while these tastes are replaced by more citrus as well as some melon like flavors (cantaloupe and honeydew). As this is an IPA, the hop is light upfront, with some flavors of grapefruit and herb. All said though, as the taste advances, more of the former hop comes to the tongue, and is joined by a little bit of a floral hop. These hop, fruit, and malt tastes take the taste to the end, where they leave one with a rather pleasantly impressive and robust taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is super thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the mix of big sweet and bready flavors, mixed with the blend of hop flavors and abv. the feel is rather well done and makes of a nice slow sipper.
Overall – While not a hop hitter and a little on the fruit based side, this is a very enjoyable and quite easy drinking and approachable, but not “too” approachable” IPA. This is one I hope Sierra Nevada keeps on staff as a regular. Very tasty!!

Cloudy orange-small off white head-small traces of lacing.

Rotting pineapple, citrus, overripe mango and booze on the nose and palate. Gets sweeter as it warms.

Mouthfeel is syrupy and sticky.

Not digging this one. A boozy sweet mess. Just not good.
