Hazy as hell orangish.
Big white head.
Smell is classic Weiss, banana and clove.
taste follows with some spiciness.
Very good beer - true to style.

This superb hefeweizen is bright and crisp, with a hint of banana sweetness in the nose and taste, but nothing cloying or overdone. In fact, that's a fair encapsulation of what makes this beer so exceptional: It's not the flashiest hefeweizen; it's not an American reimagination of what a hefeweizen should be; it's not trying too hard. The result of this restraint is, for my money, the freshest most delicious hefeweizen brewed in America. And hats off to Sierra Nevada for brewing a beer that's not a predictable hop-stravaganza.

A: Pours a silky 1.5 finger head. Color is a hazy , dirty straw

S: Cloves, white pepper, banana

T: Banana bread in a beer. Wheaty, creamy, and smooth. Carbonation gives it some variation

O: A solid beer.

From notes 9/15/12: Pours a thick cloudy, ocher producing a large, lasting white head which leaves exceptional lacing. Aroma and taste mirror each other with banana, bread, mild clove, light lemon being dominant. Nice effervescence, balance and wet finish. Very refreshing and much more complex than this brief description hints at.

On draft, light golden in color with a slight haze, minimal head, slight lacing. Just a hint of banana and clove. The taste you get more banana and a bit of clove, slight malt backbone which gives a hint of sweetness. Mouthfeel, slight carbonation a little bit chewy. After taste is sweet with a good mouth coating some banana

12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass.

L---Pale gold color, almost completely clear on the pour, then completely clear after it settles.. Very thick head with nice retention and excellent lacing. Eternal rising bubbles.

S---A touch of keller funk. A little bit of the banana/clove combo I was hoping for. Yeastiness in the background.

T---The banana/clove combo is more prominent than in the nose. Yeast/malts are clearly there. Perhaps a little coriander.

F---Feels like a weissbier should. It's clean & bubbly.

O---A proper weissbier from a proper brewery. Nice work, guys. I'd like another (or two or three).

Light like a fantasy, I dream of reality. Delicate and bare, I sip as if no one is there. I want, I need, I need, I want... Another sip is had. Light, crisp, banana for dazeeeee. Raul drinks this beer and he thinks it’s ok.

12oz bottled 5/1/18 (80 days ago) poured into a small wheat beer glass at fridge temp 4.8% ABV. The beer pours just the slightest bit hazy, golden straw yellow in color with off white head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is a little wheat malt and slight clove. The taste is wheat with some semisweet banana. No real bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, adequately carbonated and undry in the finish. Overall, good. Not my style, but well made and subtle.
