A - Poured a pale cloudy golden colour with a two fingered head that dissipated to a nice thin film.

S - Like a typical hefeweizen. Get some banana immediately although not overly strong along with a hint of clove/spice.

T - Still get the banana but I get more lemon notes although fairly bland and watery.

M - Light bodied and very little carbonation althought is fairly smooth and creamy

O - Just an average attempt at the hefeweizen that just lacks any real depth in the flavour to make you grab for another. Not bad but a little bland overall.

a small head settles to a ring. Light yellow slighty cloudy appearance.

Smells like a bavarian weis beer. Nice aroma from the yeast with no apparent hop aroma.

Taste is superb. Not many american brewers can duplicate that German weiss beer taste. This is a great one. All the nuances of a top quality hefeweizen. Bubblegum, clove, banana and lemon with a fruity full flavor.

Crisp refreshing carbonation and spicy finish.

A delightful offering from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

Poured into a goblet, 2" of head. It was a bright, opaque yellow. The smell was typical hefeweizen, spice and fruit over the hops. The taste was very well balanced; sweet with bitter, fruit and hops. I've struggled with "mouthfeel" in the past. Sierra Nevada explained it to me today. It was weighted perfectly. Overall an excellent beer and a fine example of the style. Sierra Nevada loves the hops, but they backed off and remained true to the style.I picked this up as part of my hefeweizen mix pack from the local total wine and after finishing this one, I regretted not getting a whole six pack. Soon.

They got this right. Had on tap at Swift Hibernian Lounge, East Village NYC. Sierra Nevada Kellerweis does the Bavarian style proud, from the appearance and characteristic smell to the bread and spice taste. Great wheat tang, not too sweet. Excellent head. One of a select few American beers that is practically indistinguishable from its counterparts across the ocean, at least from what I can tell. I wonder in a blind taste test if I could tell which is which.
