From a 12oz can date 8/28/20 into a pint glass.

Pours a translucent yellowish amber color with about one finger of white head, Decent retention and lacing.

Smells strongly of pine and earth. Also picking up some grass and maybe a hint of onion in there.

Taste is mainly pine with some dank earth.

There's something about this beer that I can't place that makes it drink a little differently than a WCIPA. Not quite as dry/sweet on the finish, more bitter. It's sticky with a good strong bitter aftertaste.

This is great beer from SN, has a decent price point ~$12/6pk and goes to a good cause. What's not to love?

Can dated 090320 into a tulip glass.

L: Vibrant copper with nearly 2 fingers of variable density white head with good retention and left mixed lacing.

S: Resinous dank and pine, underlying subtle floral attributes gain prominence as it warms.

T: Follows nose quite well, hints of breadiness. Finishes with moderate bitterness that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

F: Medium bodied with Low-medium carbonation, silky on the tongue and swallow.

O: Drinks super smooth for a 7.4% IPA. Alcohol is very well integrated, though I'd love to see it closer to low 6s. It's an IPA that I can see buying a lot of in the Spring if Sierra were so inclined to make it a seasonal offering. But it will struggle to compete against the upper tier fresh hop brews right now for my preferences.

Deep gold, chill haze, clears as it warms, generous white head, superb retention, splotchy lace in abundance.
Dank is correct. There is also some pine and multiple varieties of citrus zest underneath. Great, prominent aroma.
Didn't think I'd ever say this about a beer, but weed taste is a bit much. There is pine and citrus zest underneath.
Medium bodied, appropriate carbonation, crisp, clean finish.
Really and truly, if I hadn't stopped smoking 15 years ago, this would've probably gotten 5s across the board.

OMG, what's dank about this beer? It almost tastes like an boring NE IPA I don't even know if it's as good as some of those. Ok, it's not, this beer fucking stinks. On rye. I am so done with the state of boring craft beer this year, wait, I'm starting to get a little bite, wait ... I'll check the can date. thank goodness I only bought the one for $2.50 not the entire 6 pak for $14.

Here's hoping this year's Celebration (my first craft beer ever, a long time ago) is up to par. ridiculous.

12 oz can, canned on 9/3/20, into Boiler snifter.

Pours a purely gold body that's mostly transparent, with a tall west-coast style 3 finger head head leaving world class equidistant rings as it recedes.

Aroma is sweet and pungent. Some breakfast cereal, honey, caramel, orange blossom, and sweet grass.

Flavor is nearly palate wrecking, bringing heavy caramel malt and abrasive piney hops to start, but then it tapers off a little bit and softens into clove and orange candy. Sweet cereal, orange candy, ethanol, and abrasive piney hops remain on the finish.

Feel is light and effervescent but thickens up in a caramel-malt sort of way, and then numbs your tongue and destroys your palate. The alcohol heat is pretty abrasive as well.

Overall, this beer does not exemplify dank to me, it is more "pine, wood, lemon" type of flavors. It is too triple-west-coast-IPA to me to be enjoyable. Very palate scrubbing. Intense. Abrasive. No cannabis, no mushroom, no pleasantness at all. This is just pine sol in a can.

Price paid : $1.79 / can
Would buy again : no

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 8/28/20, so about 6 weeks old.

Looks excellent in the glass. Amber copper colored body. Big white head which persists in good form throughout, leaving outstanding lacing.

Pine, resin, pepper and herb aromas. Very interesting

On tasting, the flavors follow the nose. Kind of a dry herbal piney taste. A little bitterness wanders in and out. Decent hoppiness. Enjoying this one.

Mouth mouth closer to full than medium. A little bitey. Finish herbal resin bitterness.

Overall, really liked this beer. The name is a bit misleading, since it's not really dank. But since that's not my favorite taste anyway, I couldn't care less. Thankful for this excellent brew, and that I have 5 more in the fridge to enjoy.

I'm likin' this one, 12oz can poured into an Honest Weight pintglass. 7.4. No date, but fresh. Pours golden, and one of those aromatic brews that I love - smelled this 6 inches before I tasted it. For me this IPA tastes like weed, a taste I like. I suspect the Neo-Mexicanus. I think I remember Sierra having a 'Wild Hop' series and likin' the one hopped with Neo-Mexicanus.

I'm getting more.

for having all these different hops in it, i didnt find this all that unique in draft form, i mean, its excellent ipa, but very sierra nevada in that there is some crystal malt heft to it, and there is also plenty of bitterness, both hallmarks of their classic ipa types. a light copper color to this, average white head that struggles to stick. aroma of pine sap, fresh grapefruit, bright green grapes, and something lush like aloe or even ripe avocado or something, seems extremely fresh overall and pretty oily, with just a little bready malt in behind all the hops, balanced and appealing. the flavor is nice too, more pine, some curious red pepper character or something, that must be the neomexicanus hops, but the pine is the lead note from the hops, and its got some neat nuance as it warms up a little, melon and green grape, pear, and orange, moderately high alpha acid and attendant bitterness, but clean on the ferment, not too heavy from the malt, and i actually appreciate the little bit of grain sweetness to give the hops some counterpoint. i was hoping overall that this would be a little more different, with some of the special hops in here and all, but at the end of the day its professionally done ipa of excellent quality and the freshness is on point. really enjoyed this with some mango habanero chicken wings, a little sweet heat seemed perfect with this brew. a hearty and appropriate ipa for fall, dank as the name suggests, and with more and more of the nelson coming through as it warms. i am also surprised to see its as strong as it is, doesnt drink boozy even a little bit.

Pours a very hazy amber color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is very good as is lacing. Nice, fresh tropical and piney resin aroma. Maybe some apple with a definite earthiness to it. Piney resin on the taste with some dank earthiness mixed with some tropical fruit in the middle. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Nice bitter aftertaste.

Pours a medium copper hue with a wonderful chalk white rocky head. Great lacing and retention.
Nose is pine, resin, berry, citrus rind
Taste follows. Citrus rind, pine, resin, a touch of berry, a bit of ‘juice’ supported by a subtle caramel/toffee malt backbone. Solid bitterness. Excellent beer.
Easy drinking. Great beer.

Bright orange color, nice thick head, clings to the glass. Aroma of citrus and pine resin. This IPA is very balanced malty with a great hop bite, Delicious like all of their IPA's.

Poured into a tulip.

Pours light amber and only slightly hazed with a nice two fingered foamy head and good lacing.

Caramel malt, resin and dank chive weedy hops on the nose as promised.

A touch of caramel malt sweetness and citrus on the tip of the tongue. In midstream a bit of berry. Then waves of resin and dank hops take over. Booze but mild booze at the finish.

Medium bodied well carbed and drying at the finish.

A powerful brew with loads of wcipa flavors. Brings back memories.

12oz can stamped PKGD 091120M (about 6 weeks old) poured into a shaker pint at fridge temp 7.4% ABV. The beer pours mostly bright light honey amber in color with off white head. The head recedes to splotchy ring and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is mild with candied orange, grapefruit and caramel malt. The taste is semisweet piney, caramel, citrus old school with medium to heavy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. The hop oils create a little stickiness, but it's not overly sweet. Very clean with no flaws and the alcohol is well hidden. Overall, very good WCIPA. Definitely in the same family as Celebration & Torpedo.
