Can dated 090320 into a tulip glass.

L: Vibrant copper with nearly 2 fingers of variable density white head with good retention and left mixed lacing.

S: Resinous dank and pine, underlying subtle floral attributes gain prominence as it warms.

T: Follows nose quite well, hints of breadiness. Finishes with moderate bitterness that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

F: Medium bodied with Low-medium carbonation, silky on the tongue and swallow.

O: Drinks super smooth for a 7.4% IPA. Alcohol is very well integrated, though I'd love to see it closer to low 6s. It's an IPA that I can see buying a lot of in the Spring if Sierra were so inclined to make it a seasonal offering. But it will struggle to compete against the upper tier fresh hop brews right now for my preferences.

Deep gold, chill haze, clears as it warms, generous white head, superb retention, splotchy lace in abundance.
Dank is correct. There is also some pine and multiple varieties of citrus zest underneath. Great, prominent aroma.
Didn't think I'd ever say this about a beer, but weed taste is a bit much. There is pine and citrus zest underneath.
Medium bodied, appropriate carbonation, crisp, clean finish.
Really and truly, if I hadn't stopped smoking 15 years ago, this would've probably gotten 5s across the board.

red into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a big, four finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and mildly dank hops, orange, mixed tropical fruit, a little grapefruit and pine. Flavor is pale and biscuit malt, citrus and grassy hops, grapefruit, lemon, pine and a little dankness, moderately bitter finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Kind of an old fashioned tasting IPA, with some biscuit character in the malt and noble hop light grassiness mixed in with the more contemporary citrus, pine and dank notes. Not quite as dank as I expected from the name, but has some of that quality. Somewhat subdued, but with a fine malt backbone and interesting hop bill. Always appreciate a non-hazy style from a brewer who uses hops well.

Honestly I've been avoiding the Dankful for a while, as I am not sure how I feel about "dank" beers. I mean, I get what I mean by dank but I feel like everyone has their own version of dankness when it comes to a hoppy beer. Got this in a mix-pack though, so let's get into it.

First impression is I really like the color, and went with a tulip for this one. Pretty solid off-white head that has stuck around for quite some time. Nose is almost skunky, but like hop-skunk, not skunked-skunk; what I might refer to as a "hop-funkiness", but maybe that's SN's "dank" - we'll never know. Plowing through the head which I guess will never go away, it's pleasantly hoppy and malty, but there's also this heavy herbal character that isn't knocking my socks off. The flavor's there, but maybe just not my flavor. I also find the mouthfeel lacks body - it's a pretty light drinker for all the smack-you-up hops and caramel color - but I do appreciate the slightly amped-up carbonation in this one.

The website says there are seven hop varieties in this beer and one or more of them is not for me, but I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying this beer, just I wouldn't get it again.

Can packaged Oct 16

I think the term 'dank' is overused today and try to avoid this descriptor. However, the aroma on this fits the bill. It's truly marijuanesque. Thankfully these are fairly fresh cans so not sure how long this aromatic characteristic will be retained on older cans. The flavor is piney/resinous. Just enough malt presence but not too much. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky. Medium carbonation. This is a solid IPA with characteristics which are not very common these days (certainly not in as well executed IPAs as this one is). Highly recommended for WCIPA fans and those looking for a break from the haze.

Beutiful beer to look at in the glass, fairly aromatic with C hops and grains dancing around on the nose. Taste is good, however somewhat muted in flavors. To be honest it tastes pretty much like a higher ABV SNPA. Where Torpedo has a much sweeter and juicy flavor this beer is kinda muted. Still a good beer but was hoping for a little more pow in the tastes.

L- copper amber - great head and lacing. Best quality of the beer.
S- Pine resin and Earth. Danker as it warms.
T- ass end of Gaia earthy and a very bitter but too astringent taste. A little one dimensional but I like its FU attitude. Old school, y'all. Almost reminds me of Cumbre Elevated IPA pre-2014.
M - a little weird off kilter abv burn or gin like quality. Strange. Good carbonation though.
O - not my fave but really happy to find and try this new SN offering.

Clear, golden beer with a fluffy, white head that leaves lacing on the glass.

Nose: Pine, grass, resin, citrus and malt.
Taste: Grassy hops, pine, pale malt, grapefruit and tropical fruits.
Mouth: Medium body and soft, medium carbonation. Bitter ending.

Pours a golden amber. Odd perfumey aroma. Very odd flavor. Slightly sweet. Slightly bitter. A slight malt finish. A little muddled. Not a typical Sierra Nevada IPA.

Had this on 2020-11-28 near Pittsburgh, PA from a 12oz canned on 2020-09-11

A - Somewhat-hazy, golden-orange with a 2-finger white head that sticks around leaving great lace.

S - Apricot, light pine, bread, very mildly dank.

T - Apricot jam on toasted bread. Plenty of pine. Finishes with orange and grapefruit bitterness.

M - Medium body and carbonation. Creamy then it dries out.

O - Quite tasty. West Coast IPA for sure and in my wheelhouse.

OMG, what's dank about this beer? It almost tastes like an boring NE IPA I don't even know if it's as good as some of those. Ok, it's not, this beer fucking stinks. On rye. I am so done with the state of boring craft beer this year, wait, I'm starting to get a little bite, wait ... I'll check the can date. thank goodness I only bought the one for $2.50 not the entire 6 pak for $14.

Here's hoping this year's Celebration (my first craft beer ever, a long time ago) is up to par. ridiculous.
