Pours a clear dark golden yellow, 1" head that settles to a thick ring, nice retention; certainly by looks on the Festbier side of things. Nose suggests a bit of malt sweetness, but the hops come through a bit more - there's the expected spice, but a fresh floral element as well, with just a hint of lemon. Taste is very light malt sweetness up front, a building mellow bitterness that then gives way to a dry, bready, crackery finish. Mouthfeel is moderate, spot on for the style. One of the better American Festbiers I've tried.

Pours a clear copper color. Frothy off white head. Aroma include toasty malt and a fresh leafy hop. Flavor follows with buttery caramel malt up front, leafy hop bitterness comes on and balances everything out. Finish is clean, moderate carbonation and a subtle bitter aftertaste. Very easy drinking.

Gold to copper in color with a fingernail of dishwater white around the rim and covering three quarters of the top. The aroma is of bready malt. I’m tasting crackery malt with some lemon flavored hops. The mouth is very light and refreshing.

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest 2020

Pours clear, with a nice cap of creamy foam. Low aroma. There’s a spackling of some grassy green hops, and a nice caramel malt backbone. Tasty, easy drinker. Bottled 20 days prior to enjoying.

APPEARANCE: Clean amber, with a fine, clean white head that dissipates quickly to little lace.

AROMA: Caramel malts, toasty and traditional.

TASTE: Malty but not cloyingly sweet as some Festbiers can be. A nice push of hops keep this one steady. Looks, smells, and tastes like Fall! Solid offering and quite enjoyable.

Hmmm, I don't know why others have rated this one as Very Good. I think it is an okay Oktoberfest, but I cannot call it Very Good. The taste just seems a bit off to me, though I guess it could be this one particular bottle. It is not bad, but it leaves an odd aftertaste in my mouth. Maybe just my taste buds are weird??

Picked up a sixer from TW Arrowhead 10-2-20 for $8.49. Packaged 8-13-20; consumed for review 11-15-20.

Beer poured orange with a okay white head with the original pour.

Nose is faint toast and faint floral hops.

Taste is a more pale malt base with a very light touch of toasted malts. Finishes with a sweet fruity hop which is what i would not expect from this style.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and not overly refreshing or smooth.

Overall this is a decent tasting beer BUT a disappointment as there is maybe an unintended consequence of the play between the malts and hops used or perhaps the yeast is causing this beer to come across as an American Pale Lager versus the intended Fest/Marzen style.

12oz bottled 8-13-20
2+ finger off-white creamy head with a fine bead. Excellent retention.
Deep golden with very good clarity. Full lace.
Toasted grain. Slight sulfur. Minerality. Faint feed store.
Bready malt. Honeyed toast. Light hop spice in the finish.
Slick mouthfeel detracts a little. Medium body and soft carbonation. Semi-sweet, moderate length finish.
Another OKT winner from Sierra Nevada, maybe not up to par with the last few but still a tasty effort with great flavor and drinkability.
Very Good.

Look: medium pale, good foam
Smell: a yeasty bouquet
Feel: lightweight
Taste: an okay lager? I hate that I'm disappointed with this one, this year. It's fine, it's drinkable but it's just, an okay lager. It just doesn't feel like a good festbier.

This one pours a golden brown color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like sweet caramel, some light hop character, and breadiness.

This is not what I expected. It's very watery tasting, and just doesn't have that rich and crisp character I want out of this style. It's definitely the least impressive of the various yearly takes on this style that Sierra Nevada has done. It just doesn't feel as well done to me.

This is watery and light, and not as drinkable as this best versions of this style tend to be.

I am quite disappointed in this one.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a mug.

L- Clear copper color with a thin layer of white lacy foam.

S - Sweet malty biscuit with hints of butterscotch diacetyl. Smells delicious.

T - Taste is more of the same. Really tasty with a slightly dry hop bitterness in the finish.

F - Mouthfeel is what you'd expect from this style, crisp, light and refreshing,

O - I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this beer. Although I must admit it reminded a little bit of a high quality ESB, it was defiantly enjoyable.

12oz bottle
PKGD 07/31/20
L: crystal clear copper body; frothy ivory head
S: grain, caramel, herbal hops with a slight citrus
T: herbal, spicy, and a bit of grapefruity hops; nutty grain, bread crust, caramel
F: medium-to-full body, ample carbonation, smooth, well balanced finish
O: this was good, but almost comes across as an ale - the finish lingers a bit, and I can’t get over the citrus hop flavor that is subtle yet still noticeable

12 oz bottle to stein. Clear amber color with ivory head. Head falls to a thin cap. Carbonation bubbles popping up throughout. Smell is malt, fruity (kind of a nondescript fruit). Taste is malty and sweet up front, then a bit of bitterness kicks in with a citrus fruit bent. Finish is clean, but not entirely dry. Feel is medium bodied with light, loose carbonation. Overall...it's good. Not totally sold on it though.
