Atomic Torpedo is our East Coast–West Coast hop collision, unleashing the joint power of two styles: juicy East Coast IPAs and dank West Coast IPAs. Fused in this Double IPA, their hop favors span lush fruit, sticky pine, and floral tones. It’s our classic IPA transformed—soft yet assertive, approachable yet atomic.

The beer is a dark amber color with a small off-white head and a little lace.
Citrus aroma, some other sweet fruit, pine, a little caramel.
Taste of grapefruit, mango, pineapple, and pine. Caramel background.
Light bitterness. Alcohol well-hidden.

Can't say I love the taste--the sweet fruitiness and slightly funky bitterness just don't mesh for me. But it's drinkable and at 9.2 abv, when it comes to drinking a couple and forgetting your pain for a while with no hangover, this works fine.

Poured from a 16oz can into pint glass in October 2023. There was a canned date of 08/01/23 on the bottom of the can. I drank about 2 days from purchase.
Appearance: Deep golden color with 3-finger white head. Head is very thick, and it lasts a few minutes, leaving a small covering. There is a medium amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell: Strong aroma of grapefruit and pine, as well as some hops, pineapple, and other fruits. The grapefruit aromas dominates the other aromas.
Taste: Fruity with citrus and grapefruit flavors and some bitter taste from the hops. The sweetness and bitter edge are well-balanced. Has a very nice after-taste that lasts a moderate amount of time. Overall a nice balance and very drinkable.
Mouthfeel: Medium body and medium alcohol, which matches the 9.2% listed on the can.
This is a very good IPA. It has a nice mix of citrus fruit, hops, and other flavors, which makes it enjoyable. Another good beer from Sierra Nevada. I like the overall balance, and would buy this again.

Pours with a super thick head and very nice lacing. Golden light copper color.
Light carmel and pine notes.
One of the sweetest tasting beers I've ever had. Not really any bitterness; I was hoping for a little bit.
Feels thick and foamy in the mouth.
Overall very nice. I was hoping for something jucier and with more bitterness.
Tastes a lot better when drinking with food.

Look - Nice clear golden color with a thick sticky white head
Smell and Taste - Piney citrus slightly bitter hops balanced by a really nice caramel malt. Really easy going.
Feel - medium full body with a medium carb
Overall - Really well done traditional double. I like the East meets west approach
