Notes of tea, herbs, orange citrus marmalade, apricot, light toasty bready malts, hint of amber honey, mild toffee, apple, slight spice with earthy grassy hops

On tap:
Copper brown body is clear, off-white collar does give up much lacing in this glass. Nose has an autumn vibe to it, leafy notes with some warm spices, though the aromas aren’t very robust.
A little on the dry and bitter side, with a prickly carbonation, it opens with a toasty, slightly nutty malt flavor. Light hints of date and maybe candied orange come up before a mistral to earthy bitterness takes over.

On tap, pours a deep copper with an off-white head. Very nice Marzen, maybe a little hoppier than a classic German version, but I'm okay with that. Underrated beer.

L - Poured from a can into a glass mug at a little below room temperature. Almost no head that dissipated quickly. (I fear I waited too long to try this 2021 Oktoberfest the following January 2022.) The color is a wonderful dark amber that catches almost red in the right light of my kitchen.
S - I get a smooth biscuity/warm bready smell up front and a pleasant malt-caramel scent that I enjoy from Oktoberfest/Märzen beers.
T - Once again, the biscuity/warm bread taste up front with a caramel taste through the end. Very smooth taste with almost no bitterness throughout.
F - The overall feel was light on carbonation (probably due to my delay in drinking this a few months late), but the overall mouthfeel was smooth and very easy to drink all the way to the end of the glass.
O - This was a very enjoyable beer that through taste alone was one of the better Oktoberfest beers I've tried. Throughout the years, Oktoberfest-styles are usually my favorite, so it's great to find another one I enjoy. I'll have to revisit next year (assuming it's still the 2021 styling) closer to late September/early October in order to see where it sits in my ranking of Oktoberfests.

APPEARANCE: Clear copper, with a nice head of light khaki/off-white suds. Nice lace, too!
NOSE: Bready, caramel malts, sweet honey, toasty and nice.
TASTE: Toast and toffee again, with a hint of sweet giving way to a touch of bitter hops at finish. Great balance (as an Oktoberfest needs to be) and an enjoyable and faithful interpretation.

9/27/21... pours rich copper amber, somewhat see through, light foam layer that bubbles out. Caramel bready nose. Smooth malty flavor, quick slim bitter that pops up and dies quickly. A touch oaky with smoke hints.

Look: Nearly clear amber-red in color with a nice off-white head that holds some before settling to a lid, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Warm brown bread, earthy hop notes, a little toffee, melanoidin, some bread dough, and caramel
Taste: Bready malt, toffee, and earthy hops hit up front as dough and caramel slowly bleed in and mesh into the mix. The flavors all develop as a whole and individually in depth throughout before bread and toffee close it out
Mouthfeel: Full, very clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a clean and crisp finish
Overall: I dig it. I love a good Marzen lager and these folks have made good Oktoberfests for years and are always a yearly fall pleasure. Similar to last year’s one in that it again is a darker, maltier one but like usual, is well-made and tasty. Prost!
