I drank this from a tasting glass at EBF.

The beer is black with a medium tan head. The retention and lacing are both pretty solid.

The aroma is a very nice combination of chocolate and spice very similar to tobasco.

The taset is right on the nose. Its like eating a chocolate bar spied with chili peppers. You can eat anything with chocolate and this is just more proof you can mix and drink about anything with chocolate. The finish is very nice and smooth.

The hot from the chili is just enough to give you the flavor but not kill your tastebuds or its drinkability.

Boston Beer made a similar beer, but this one is clearly superior.

Great beer, I'd love to see it mass produced.

Served in a snifter at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

Appearance: A one finger mocha head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Milk chocolate, caramel, molasses, roasted, toasted, dark fruits, warm boozy alcohol, and banana.

Taste: Nice blend of above aromas. Super smooth, light bitterness, and warm alcohol. Wish there was more of chili prresence, but I'm happy with the milk chocolate flavor.

Mouthfeel: Silky smooth, warm boozy alcohol, bitterness, a little chewy, medium carbonation, and medium to full bodied.

Overall: Chili is mild, but nice milk chocolate flavor. Very enjoyable and delicious. Wish I could revisit this one again.

Draft January 2016. Starting temp 50+ degrees, took my time. Looked good. Aroma was minimal chocolate with a hint (or was my mind just expecting it) of spice. I did get a full flavor and the chili was mild at best. A creamy mouthfeel could have rescued this beer for me. Assuming this was brewed in 2010, would have liked to have compared to a few years ago.

Black with light, slowly forming, and barely lingering head. sweet, roasty, chocolate nose. A nicely balanced imperial stout a bit on the sweet side. The chocolate was fairly subtle and balanced with the rest of the beer, but I didn't get any explicit chili notes. Very enjoyable in any case.

On tap at twisted oak just after Christmas.

Dark pour.

Taste is dark cocoa, malt and a bit of spice at the end. Little warming from the spice, but more suble that most chili beers.

Mini from the 16th St. Albertson's but a bunch of places are seeing a keg of this one… Pours with a nice dark brown head… Pretty dry throughout… Chili and Coco both are pretty light… Not much sweetness.. Dry char.. Interesting, but could be a lot better with a bit more sweetness.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark black pour, ruby/beige head on the small side. Things go up from here, mild roast grain aroma with a hint of semi-sweet chocolate. Taste is more chocolate, roast grains, the chili's make themselves known, and bring a bit of heat. Nice glowing warmth lingers.
