Many times I have had this beer and it's always been poured into a mug, becher pint glass, or nonic pint glass.
The appearance was always the same - stiff mostly dark brown color with a sustaining healthy finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a fairly slow pace. Always - the fair and low key structured speckled glossy lace. Always loved how it always did that to all of my glasses.
The aroma definitely spoke of a true "American Brown ale" with the gentle citrus to piney hoppy notes just above the roasted malt bill and pulling in some nuts, caramel and toffee.
The flavor was moderately bitter and then becoming fully bittersweet with some nice ample roasted malty notes and mildly playing with the aftertaste in the same sort of way.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Nice hoppy bitter to sweet and roasted maltiness in the finish.
Overall, if you're looking for the quintessential "American brown ale" packed with hops and the roasted malt bill, look no further, this is your guy.

Pours a dark reddish brown color with a 1.5 finger width foamy head. Head retention is excellent as is lacing. Difficult to get much of an aroma from it. Very weak. Hints of darker malts and slight dark fruits. Bready taste. Lighter on the dark fruits. Very slightly roasted malts with mild coffee at the end. Does have a more silky taste to it. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

One of the best brown ales I've had. Not too sweet, but very drinkable with nice malty overtones and a slight hoppiness.

Roasted malt character dominates this beautiful brown ale.

Dark brown color with red-umber highlights. Lots of white lacing on the glass.

Nose is toasted bread, mild toffee and some vegetal hop character.

Taste leans to dry, toasty malt, with a thirst-quenching bitter finish. Not a lot of hop aroma.

Satisfying impression overall. Drinkable American Brown.

Poured from a cold 12 oz. bottle into a tulip glass.
Dark brown color, two fingers of head, mild aeration.
Aroma: malt, malt, malt, chocolate at the end. No sign of what's upcoming...
Taste: smoky chipotle, malt, sea salt (background), peat. Some minor sweetness. Gorgeous flavor!
Mouthfeel: Feels a bit chewy at the end, some lingering taste not in a bad way.

Loved this beer and will definitely acquire more.
