Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Hazy amber/copper pour with 2.5 fingers of fluffy white head. Great sticky lacing.

S: Dank and hoppy.. herbal and piney. Smells like a Sierra Nevada/West Coast IPA.

T/F: Rich and malty... caramel and bread balanced out by a dank piney hop profile. Mild citrus, but herbs and pine dominate. Resinous and nutty. Sweet and bitter.. light bodied and stick on the tongue.

O: A pretty awesome IPA from Sierra Nevada. Similar but different from some of their other IPA's. More malt forward... but big time bitterness to balance. Really enjoyed this one, even if it's probably an ooch past its best by.

Like Mike Trout batting in the bottom of the 9th, this thang is clutch. Sexy, delicate hops meet wonderful floral notes like a virgin picking Lillie’s by Moonlight.

Yep!

2017 Edition bought from Systembolaget in Sweden.

Clear, amber, almost red, beer with a three finger high beige, fluffy head.

Nose of orange, apple, grass, flowers, caramel and dried fruit.
Taste of pine, dried fruit, apricot, orange cest, grapefruit, honey and grass.
A great, medium-sweet, malty taste. Medium body and carbonation. Bitter ending.

I want more of this! Great!

Had the chance to drink it fresh at Sierra Nevada in Asheville this past Wednesday, super tasty! Seems like the "wet hop" adds a distinctive edge to the taste, nice.

Poured a beautiful deep amber to garnet with a vanilla hued, foamy head. I certainly did not expect a pour like this for an American IPA. Indeed, this is the prettiest ale I have seen in a long while.

While the aroma was not hugely distinct for a wet hop ale, the fantastic flavor more that made up for mild deficiencies. The flavor begins with a balanced dose of piney hops as well as some excellent caramel flavor from the roasted malt. As the ale warms in the glass, the malt and hop balance becomes more prominent. Some may criticize this, for after all, this is an ale to showcase hops. To me, it is superb. Despite the label mentioning "grapefruit", I hardly detect any at all. It is somewhat earthy, and I swear I detected the faint taste of licorice.

The mouthfeel is slightly chewy with restrained carbonation. The slightly sweet and pine hop bitterness pleasantly coats the palate.

An excellent and surprising IPA that I seek out again. One more surprise was finding this in six packs; the ale normally is sold in single pint size bottles.

Pours copper orange and forms an off white head that vigorously laces. Sweet on the nose with unique spicy, earthy, and floral notes. Thick on the tongue with a spicy hop profile. The bitterness is sharp but balances well with the caramel malt profile. It doesn't resemble what I consider a wet hop IPA to be, but it's not bad.

12oz bottle, PKGD 09/21/17
Deep cooper colored ale with a frothy beige head that eventually settles into a foam. Pine and citrus with bready caramel malt for aroma. Flavors yield a bold sticky fresh hop presence with notes of pine resin, grapefruit & orange zest, bread crust, toasty grain, caramel, and a bit of earthy herbal tea; along with Sierra Nevada's familiar house yeast. Fuller body, sticky and resinous hop oils coat the palate with pungent bitterness, finishing bitter and dry with pine lingering. It's been a long time since I had this. I remember it being good, but this is great!
