Wow. Wow. This beer is just in another category. Such a great concept, but the actual beer lives up to it. A MASSIVE rush of hop character on the nose. A bit more pine flavor and less citrus flavor than i would have expected, but excellent. When you drink this beer, you can almost imagine fresh hops going down your throat. It coats your palate with hop flavor. The malt character is perfect. Just enough to back up the hops, but not too much to hide them. This beer is damn near perfect.

I used to live on the east coast, land of the pumpkin beers during the fall months. The west coast is severely lacking in the pumpkin department. However, what they lack in pumpkin ales, the strongly make up in wet/fresh hop ales. And Sierra Nevada never disappoints.
Pours copper with a firm head and lace that won't quit.
This one smells like hops. Big piney hops. Malt maybe somewhere in there.
Yeah, hops hammer the tongue. A bready caramel malt tries to resuscitate your taste buds, only to be kicked in the face by mire hops.
Extra medium in the mouth.
Love this one. All hail fresh hop IPAs!

Pours a very nice orange hued copper color. And then this IPA immediately makes its presence known. The Cascade and Centennial hops create a strong, citrusy and pine smell that rushes to the nose.

Taste is again, hoppy enough for me as a hop head, but so well-balanced with the malts. A hint of spice, maybe nutmeg or pine comes through in the taste as well.

One of my favorite all-time IPAs. Worth finding. And growler'ing.

Bomber poured into a globe glass.

A-- Poured a clear golden brown color. Eggshell white head. Started at two fingers and slowly worked its way down, while doing so leaving a spongy web like lacing. Very nice. Good head retention on swirling and holds its shape and body quite well.

S-- Fresh and vibrant. Big dose of Carmel, Pine, Grapefruit, orange and other citrus. Just a good, solid, balanced nose. Quite nice.

T-- Carmel, big backbone. Fresh grapefruit, a bit of pine, also get some orange as well.

M-- Medium to fuller bodied. Spot on carbonation for the style. A little bit of a harsh medicinal grapefruit finish though. Workable though. Oily at times and at others creamy.

O-- Solid and more solid. All around good IPA. Enough malt and hops to waste on this and it works. Must buy more.

Pours a great coppery amber, with a thick fluffy off-white head. No cloudiness to the fluid, and moderate lacing.

Smells of tangy, earthy, floral hops.

Tastes isn't quite as hoppy as the smell, almost subdued. Earthy hops up front that lingers throughout the taste. Very Fall. Nice hop aftertaste.

Texture is nice, not too strong. Lines up with a nice hop style beer.

Fresh hops are nice, this is shown here in this beer. I wish the smell was reflected as well in the flavor. A nice drink and great product from Sierra.
