L: orangish-copper. Active carbonation like a revers waterfall feeds the 1.5 inch thick foam head.
S: big grapefruit, medium pine
T: grapefruit, pine, a bit of stone fruit at the end. Very smooth with little bite.
M: sticky resin
O: very good. Very drinkable at 8%. More of a double IPA as it is thankfully on the lighter side for an imperial. SN free this one from the sampler and bring this out in sixers and twelves.

Pours a slightly chill hazed amber with 2 fingers of eggshell colored head. Sheets of lacing & stellar head retention
S: Not a ton of dankness in the nose, cantaloupes & green melon, a little breadyness. Faint pineyness once warm & grapefruit
T: Follows the nose, some pomelo, pine, a bit of cattyness & dryness up front. Lemongrass, pine, a little white grape, pink grapefruit & a whisper of cattyness once this beer is warm. Finishes with plenty of pink grapefruit, some dryness, pine & cattyness showing up at near room temperature
MF: Medium body, fairly lively carbonation, great balance
Not really that dank, so some style point deductions, but damn drinkable & tasty. Probably the best new thing I've had from these folks in ages. Please do this as a mass release 6 Pack!

IMO, a classic example of WC IPA with excellent dankness. Once you get past the impressive copper color and long- lasting dense head with lots of lacing you get slapped by piney, resin goodness in smell and taste. Nice balance between too little and excessive bitterness. Medium body, clean finish, although The body seems light for an imperial. Mild to medium carbonation. Really nice.

Picked up as part of the latest Torpedo pack from the Harris Teeter cooler on 1-18-25 for $15. PKGD on 11-15-24, consumed for review 2-25-25. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured deep gold with a beautiful long lasting white head that is leaving some lacing.
Nose is very nice, dank ganga along with citrus.
Taste is very nice as the larger pale malt base provides a canvas for the hops to star as i am getting a nice pine and grapefruit combination along with a touch of orange. Finishes nicely bitter; 8/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and both smooth and refreshing.
Overall considering the mass scales SNBC brews to, this one turned out above my expectations.

12 oz bottle into a tulip glass.
L: Pours 98% clear rusty Amber with a 1/4" rounded creamy off white head that has excellent retention down to thick froth, lush steady carbo, medium sticky lacing with light half-banding.
S: Very light caramelized malts, distant cookie dough, not very expressive, no dankness.
T: Resinous pine, melon zest, melon, yeast, a trace of citrus pith, grapefruit zest, a severely long resinous finish that is mildly intense. Very hop frwd and quite bitter.
F: Brisk, lustrous and lush then semi-creamy & smooth medium-bodied feel with a very VERY long medium-dry finish that lingers.
O: Resinous but not dank. The name is a bit misleading. The term "Dank" IMO means funky. Funky taste or aroma or both. This has none of those but is just incredibly resinous. Extremely easy to drink with a long, bold, bitter finish. It is excellent to outstanding in its style.

Bottled on: 11-15-24 (Even though the SN box it came in was date stamped 12-5-24.)
A - Deep gold color with bubbly, creamy lacing and light carbonation.
S - Light caramel malt with some dank citrus.
T - A hint of light caramel up front followed by a little bit of citrus and tropical fruit with light spiciness, and ends with an assertive piney bitterness.
M - Medium body with gentle carbonation.
O - Bet this would have been better a few months ago.

Pours a nearly clear golden copper color with a fluffy white head that provides doilies of lacing down the glass as you enjoy the beer. Gorgeous WCIPA.
The nose is very resiny and dank as advertised, with an earthy, herbal quality that is inviting and even more pronounced on the taste, which is chronically dank (pun intended).
The mouthfeel is full and dry, fitting the style. If this was regularly available, it would always be in my beer fridge. Such a good WCIPA.

All twenty-four fluid ounces once distributed equally within two brown bottles, now reside temporarily inside a clear glass liter mug. The color displayed is copper-amber and it's moderately hazy. Only a little off-white head was produced at refrigeration temperature by the pours. For a self-described dank beer, there's not much aroma, but again, this just left a refrigerator. Closest description, it smells wet. Oddly, the first taste hit is spicy, maybe like nutmeg. There is a pleasant earthy and OK, a dank bite from the hops at the finish. The mouthfeel is wet, but not too viscous and the body is more than acceptable. Despite the solid backbone, there's very little glass lacing. Overall, this is a pleasant AIPA that brings plenty of not toos with it. It's not too hoppy, it's not too sweet, it's not too wheaty, it's not too funky, it's not too yeasty and it's not too fruity. But, it's also not too distinguished, as it doesn't bring much character. The alcohol is well incorporated into the taste. This could pleasantly accompany almost any meal and it is good enough to be enjoyed by itself. But, it just may be considered a little bland. The aroma didn't improve much as it warmed, although a little more of that spicy reference became more pronounced. The reported taste also increased enough to a level that questions, why anyone would serve ales this cold?
