A: slightly hazy yellow gold with a finger of white head that recedes into a thin ring with no lacing.

S: vanilla, oak, caramel and bourbon up front followed by some bubblegum along with some surprising tart and sweet citrus aromas.

T: similar to the aroma, a good amount of bourbon woth bubblegum and banana flavors. Also some sweet and sour citrus flavors.

M: medium body with lowish carbonation, it's a little watery and could use more carbonation.

O: a pretty good beer that combines the tripel aspects well with bourbon and a surprising hoppiness. Quite good.

On tap at URGE. This is the Heaven Hill version.

A: Golden orange with a fugacious white head.

S: A blast of bourbon and vanilla. There is a ridiculous amount of bourbon in the nose, I'm shocked. I get a lot of oak as well. Apple meets caramel, apricot, and earth.

T: Wow, there is a ton of bourbon in the flavor too. Lots of vanilla as well. I can't believe how much bourbon I get in the flavor. Apple blends with sugar and bread. Alcohol is evident but restrained.

M: Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Overall: The amount of bourbon is almost comical. This kicks ass.

On-tap at FoBAB 2011. Served in the associated taster glass. Aged 14 months in Heaven Hill barrels.

A - Thin white foam settles to nothing. Very murky peach body.

S - An absolutely ridiculous amount of bourbon, vanilla, and oak. In the distant periphery there is a hint of stone fruits and juice. Whatever the barrels used were, they were delicious ones.

T - The taste also has a hilarious amount of bourbon, with only a hint of sweet tripel base in the background imparting some peach and apricot flavors.

M - Smooth, medium body, chewy texture, minimal carbonation, and a fairly clean finish. Not a lot of alcohol heat, even with the immense bourbon presence.

D - I like bourbon quite a bit, but this beer is awfully silly. The base beer was totally obliterated. It's challenging to drink in large quantities. Perhaps it didn't need 14 months in the barrel.

Poured a gold with nice white head.

The smell was out of the park. White grapes, slight wood, and bourbon.

The taste was similar with the light fruits and almost white wine like quality.

I have not had the regular version of this but it's easy to tell how much the barrel does for this beer. Awesome.
